Me? Jealous? Oh, Please!

Summary:

After Geto Suguru's defection, satosugu becomes old news—at least, this is what everyone at Jujutsu Tech thinks. Only Megumi, oh poor Megumi, knows that his sensei slash 'father wanna be' continuously pines after his almost-boyfriend, who is now a cult leader.

Or

Five times Megumi is forced to watch his Gojo-sensei deny his jealousy, and the one time Gojo openly admits it.

Work Text:

Rumor in Jujutsu Tech has it that Fushiguro Megumi is a scary sorcerer, and no—it has nothing to do with Gojo Satoru being his sensei.

Megumi has everyone shaking because of the disgusting amount of times he has tried summoning Mahoraga:

Someone looked at Yuuji the wrong way? You bet that person will hear Megumi calling forth his strongest shikigami.

Waking up and realizing his phone wasn't charging all night? Nobara, a lover of chaos, swears she doesn't mind tripping over her foot so she can hurriedly stop Megumi with his ridiculous "with this treasure, I summon" speech.

Even Maki and the other senpais went a little crazy trying to stop Megumi from summoning Mahoraga for every minor inconvenience in his life.

Megumi has to admit that the rumor about him is true. But aren't they focusing on the wrong thing? Nothing bad has happened after he attempted to give his all. If anything, jujutsu sorcerers should pay attention to the menace that is Gojo Satoru.

Frankly speaking, Megumi finds it strange that no one else seems to notice his sensei's extremely jealous behavior. Everyone automatically assumes that being the strongest means he is incapable of feeling insecure.

Megumi supposes there's some truth in that. For his sensei only ever loses his shit when it comes to Geto Suguru.

𓆝 1:

Megumi first got a glimpse of Gojo's jealousy back when he was in 1st grade. Gojo has just taken him and Tsumiki under his wing, then. Despite his silliness, Megumi can't deny that Gojo knows what's best for children.

Today, Gojo takes Megumi shopping for school supplies and other stuff. Gojo and Tsumiki already went to the mall yesterday. Gojo doesn't want to bring them together since he wants to give each kid his attention.

It's Megumi's pamper day today.

Gojo picks up a pencil case worth a hundred dollars, "What do you think about this one, Megumi-chan? I'm transferring you and your sister to the best elementary school here in Tokyo. You have to be good. I don't want anyone complaining to me that I have a stupid son."

Gojo takes pride in addressing himself as the father of two little Fushiguros. Meanwhile, Megumi makes sure to debunk Gojo's claim. In fact, the words "You're not my father" are already at the tip of his tongue, but he swallows them back into his stomach.

Megumi can't afford to make Gojo sad, not when he has lost his smile and is now staring into nothingness.

"What's wrong with you?" Seven-year-old Megumi knits his brows together, about to punch Gojo's legs, when he suddenly hears someone calling his guardian's name.

"Satoru~"

The voice is extremely soft and melodious, almost like a purr. This is the first time Megumi heard someone call Gojo using his first time.

Megumi can't help but feel slightly amazed. How can anyone be so soft to someone as annoying as Gojo?

"Long time no see." The voice blesses Megumi's ears again. His eyes move to trace where the voice is coming from. It turns out that Gojo is not staring into nothingness but is looking at the owner of that angelic voice.

It belongs to a tall man with shiny, semi-long black hair partially tied into a bun. His eyes are the perfect shade of purple. It bores deeply but gently into Gojo.

Megumi doesn't let his guard up upon seeing this strange man. Gojo has been teaching Megumi some basic things regarding the jujutsu world. He recently learned to summon his divine dogs, so with a sigh and a pat on his head, Gojo decides to teach him more about his shikigamis.

"It can't be helped. You're young, but your greatness manifested at an early age. You're just like me, Megumi-chan!" This is what Gojo said to him a few weeks back. Megumi even earned a slight pinch on his cheek.

Something tells Megumi to trust this purple-eyed man. After all, not everyone can see Gojo and not immediately want to kick his weird face.

However, Megumi's gut turns out to be unreliable as Gojo shakily breathes out the other man's name.

"Suguru."

Suguru? Megumi immediately freezes on his spot. His mind short-circuits; before he knows it, he's already trying to summon another of his shikigami.

"With this treasure, I summon..." It feels like a muscle memory. He must do this because Megumi knows Gojo is important to him, as much as he hates to admit it.

Megumi feels the need to eliminate those who hurt Gojo. Unfortunately, he's just a seven-year-old kid and is not a match for someone as strong as Gojo.

Gojo instantly suppresses the reckless Megumi by gripping the back of his shirt and lifting him off the ground. He regrets teaching this little prick about his strongest shikigami. Damn it.

"Satoru, you got a fighter right there." The one called Suguru chuckles lowly. He swifts his hair back before hiding the two little girls behind him. That's right. Geto Suguru abandoned Jujutsu Tech and his morals, yet he doesn't dare throw Mimiko and Nanako around those nasty monkeys.

Softness still remains.

Megumi doesn't like the way Geto is looking at him, though. He has been living with Gojo for only a few months, but he has already made some space for Gojo in his heart and even adapted a little bit of the older man's personality.

"Let me go." Megumi snarls at Gojo. "Aren't you the one who told me to beat up bad guys?"

"Suguru is not—" a bad guy. Gojo doesn't continue what he's about to say, opting to just clench his hands into fists. He surprises himself with how easy it is for him to defend Suguru. It's like instinct kicking in.

Megumi isn't convinced, but it only makes Geto laugh. He crosses his arms and tilts his head to the side, looking at Megumi like he's an interesting toy. "What gives, little one?"

Megumi ignores Geto and hisses at Gojo, "You called him Suguru."

"What about it?" Gojo hasn't brought Megumi to Jujutsu Tech yet. He couldn't have possibly seen Suguru's wanted poster there. Besides, Gojo is adamant about tearing those posters down.

Megumi hasn't met any other sorcerers either.

"You talked about him when you sleep." Megumi elaborates. He successfully manages to wriggle out of Gojo's hold. Megumi straightens his shirt and looks at Gojo. "I saw you cry in your sleep, too. You cry the name 'Suguru' while looking like you're in a lot of pain."

After Gojo's relentless claims about being the strongest, it is a big deal for Megumi to see Gojo cry, especially when he looks pathetic doing it.

Gojo is not the only one shocked to hear what Megumi said. A glint of surprise flashes in Geto's eyes, too. Megumi is just a kid at this time, but looking back now, he realizes that there's something more in those purple eyes—something he can't explain, but is similar to the feeling he gets whenever he thinks about Yuuji finding out the implication of eating Sukuna's finger and those fingers resonating.

Geto wants to protect Gojo—this is probably the closest thing Megumi can think of. Geto believes his presence only makes Satoru sick, so he wants to leave quickly. Thankfully, Nanako pulls on his robe.

"Geto-sama, aren’t we going to leave? I want to eat doughnuts!"

Mimiko agrees with her twin. "Me too! But I want to check the hair accessories on the other aisle first. You said you'll let Nanako and me braid your hair, right?"

Geto smiles down at his daughters before holding both their hands. He turns to Satoru. "Well...See you later, Satoru."

Gojo doesn't answer, but it doesn't matter since Geto has already turned his back on him. Gojo can only watch as Suguru's back gets farther away.

Megumi notices Gojo's mood turns sour. After Geto left, Gojo kept sighing as if this whole shopping thing was a burden to him, yet he couldn't stop buying things that caught his sight.

"Maybe we should head home. I don't need that much stuff." Megumi side-eyes their shopping cart, which is full of unnecessary things.

Gojo rolls his eyes and casually picks up a pink nail polish.

"I just think it's funny, you know?" Gojo glares at the bunch of hair brushes on the shelf. They're in the beauty section, and Megumi doesn't know why. "I mean, how dare he casually show himself here? Did he take advantage of my six eyes? That I wouldn't notice his presence because his soul is familiar to me?"

Megumi doesn't have any idea what Gojo is talking about.

"And did you hear what that kid said? She wants to braid his hair, Megumi! His hair! How can he let anyone braid his hair? He never lets me. I even had to beg him to let me play with the ends of his hair! Did you know that? I can't sleep without touching his hair. And now some kids are touching what belongs to me?"

Throughout his rant, Gojo doesn't realize that he is stuffing hair brushes on their cart. Megumi tries to put the brushes back on the shelf, but his hands are so small that he is no match for Gojo's agility.

Megumi is done with Gojo's absurdity, though. He stops and scowls at the older man.

"Gojo-sensei," Megumi calls seriously. "Aren't you just jealous of those two girls? You needed to beg that man, but the kids don't have to act as pathetically as you did."

Gojo's eyes twitch. A twisted smile forms on his lips as he peers down at Megumi.

"Say, Megumi-chan," Gojo's voice sounds disgustingly sweet—but not in a good way. It sends a shiver down Megumi's spine. Gojo's face looks weirder than the first time they've met. "Do you know what hollow purple is?"

Megumi doesn't remember much of what happened after Gojo said those words. All he knew was that day, he learned how to summon Nue, a bird shikigami that can carry him to safety—away from Gojo and his maniac laugh.

Lesson learned: don't ever tell Gojo-sensei he's jealous of kids.

𓆝 𓆟 2:

Megumi is in his 1st year at Jujutsu Tech when he, unfortunately, witnesses his Gojo-sensei acting jealous again.

It is an accident, honestly. Megumi accompanied Maki in choosing her new curse tools. The armory at Jujutsu Tech is quite big. Megumi busies himself with checking the curse tools while Maki does the same on the other side of the room.

Megumi find a red katana. There's nothing special about its look, but the katana seems to entice Megumi into touching it.

Wrong move.

The katana may look like an ordinary weapon, but it is imbued with tremendous power. One touch and Megumi is instantly sent back to the past. The katana is called Whispers of Time—anyone who dares touch or wields the sword will travel back in time like a ghost. No one from that timeline will be able to see or sense him.

Unfortunately for Megumi, he is thrown to the year 2006, the place is at Jujutsu Tech and is also inside this armory.

The first one Megumi sees is his sensei. Gojo is still a teenager during this time. He's not even wearing a black blindfold yet. Megumi feels blinded by his sensei's ocean-blue eyes despite Gojo wearing sunglasses.

Gojo appears to be in a bad mood. The weapons shake with just a brief glance from him. Even inanimate objects seem to be threatened by his greatness.

"Satoru?"

There it is again. Megumi is very familiar with Geto Suguru's voice. Usually, Megumi just feels in awe at how Geto breathes out Gojo's name. However, something has changed today.

Megumi's eyes grow big when he feels his belly recoiling. It's as if thousands of butterflies are flapping their wings until his whole body shakes.

Megumi takes a step back. He instantly realizes why this is happening to him. The katana he touched didn't only bring him to the past. It also has the power to make Megumi feel whatever the first person he sees in this world feels.

Gojo Satoru is the first person Megumi saw, so it's only natural to feel what Gojo feels now. Megumi just didn't expect his sensei to react so strongly to Geto calling his name.

"What are you doing here? Didn't you say you want to join me and Haibara train today?" Geto emerges beside Gojo.

Megumi can only watch the scene unfold in front of him. He can neither change nor intervene, as this is already the past. It is interesting to watch these two people, though. Megumi has seen Geto many times before because, contrary to what others think, his Gojo-sensei never got over his one and only best friend.

Geto Suguru defected at the age of seventeen before he met his demise at twenty-seven. In his ten years as a cult leader, he also remains a constant in Gojo Satoru's life, albeit secretly. Only Megumi knows that satosugu still meets up occasionally.

Still, this is the first time Megumi saw Geto looking carefree. The sunshine of being a youth lights his face; he is more laidback but is still as indulgent to Satoru.

But Gojo's brattiness blinded him from seeing what he really meant to Geto. All that's left in Satoru's mind is that Suguru likes hanging out with Haibara more.

"I don't want to train with you today! I'm the strongest, anyway. I can do everything alone." Gojo answers bitterly. Megumi can feel the bile staining his mouth. No doubt, his Gojo-sensei is feeling jealous again.

Geto casts his gaze downward and sighs. Of course, he knows Satoru doesn't need to train with them, but that doesn't stop him from craving Satoru's company.

Geto likes hanging out with Satoru the most, but he can't force his wants, can he?

Geto steals a glance at his best friend, about to tell him he's welcome to join the training if he changes his mind. However, the words die in his mouth when he notices Gojo's crimson cheeks. He is also panting a little.

"Wait, Satoru—" Geto acts on autopilot. He immediately cups Satoru's burning cheek. "Are you—"

"I'm not!" Gojo pushes Suguru away.

Megumi winces while watching them. He realizes that not only can he feel what his Gojo-sensei is feeling, but he also has access to his thoughts. Megumi knows that Gojo slapped Geto's hand away because he thought Geto was going to ask if he was jealous about him and Haibara training together.

Gojo's nostrils flare. Megumi's heart beats as wild as his sensei's. Megumi is not a stranger to what Gojo is feeling—this is precisely what he feels whenever Yuuji talks about Junpei.

"I'm telling you now, Suguru. I'm not jealous of you and Haibara hanging out together, so don't think about it!"

Despite the uncomfortable pain piercing his heart, Megumi still can't help but be surprised by how his Gojo-sensei is acting. Satoru normally acts as if nothing bothers him. He even laughs at precarious situations, his blindfold covering the emotions in his eyes.

But this is different. Megumi feels his sensei's rage and sadness. The green-eyed monster called jealousy settles at both his and Satoru's stomach.

Geto has no idea of the chaos he brings to the strongest, which is Gojo Satoru.

"Satoru..." Geto calls softly. He retracts his hand and hides it behind him, afraid that he can't help himself from wanting to touch Satoru. "I don't think that, okay? I was just going to ask if you're feeling okay. Your face is red."

Yaga-sensei has been assigning international cases to Satoru these past few months. Geto is afraid that Gojo is pushing himself too much.

But Gojo doesn't believe Suguru because he can't bear the shame of being wrong and overreacting.

"Whatever!" Satoru runs away.

Megumi facepalms before glancing at Geto who's stuck on his spot.

Huh. Who would have thought that teenager Gojo Satoru is more insufferable than adult Gojo Satoru?

Megumi has no choice but to follow his brat of a sensei. Gojo locks himself inside his bedroom. Thankfully, Being a ghost allows Megumi to pass through a locked door.

Megumi watches his Gojo-sensei flop heavily on his bed. He kicked his feet in annoyance before getting up to grab the picture frame on his bedside table.

It's a group picture of himself, Geto, Nanami, Utahime, Shoko, and Haibara.

Megumi shakes his head in disappointment while Gojo draws a devil horn on Haibara's head. But Gojo isn't content with this. He ends up erasing the whole of Haibara's face using a permanent marker.

Megumi cringes, refusing to believe that this is the real Gojo Satoru. This is how pathetic his sensei is!

Thankfully, that's all Gojo did before covering himself with a blanket to sleep. Since Megumi still feels what his sensei feels, he can't help but yawn and sleep.

Megumi wakes by the sound of Gojo's frustrated groans. He cracks his eyes open, feeling like his head is being crushed by a boulder.

"I can't believe it. Satoru is actually sick!"

Megumi hears a woman's voice. It belongs to Doctor Shoko Ieiri. She presses a wet towel on Gojo's burning head.

Gojo just groans.

Megumi copies his reaction but is not as dramatic as his sensei. Gojo is truly sick, though. It means Megumi is suffering, too.

But of course, Gojo denies it.

"Get away from me, Shoko. I'm not—"

"Sick. Yes, Satoru. You're not sick. You're not jealous of Suguru and Haibara either."

Gojo peels his eyes open and looks at Shoko seriously. "It's because I'm not! Where'd you even get the idea of me being jealous? Did Suguru run his stinky mouth!"

Megumi feels Gojo's anger. He's already this sick, but he's still so stubborn.

Shoko sighs. "He didn't have to tell me. It's so obvious, Satoru. Haibara almost weep in my lap."

A weakling! Gojo thinks. Haibara should be grateful that Gojo only looked at him through his glasses. He'd perish if Gojo does more.

"Stop bullying him. Haibara isn't going to steal Geto from you." Shoko touches her friend's forehead. "Haibara and I are dating."

Gojo's pinkish lips part. His ocean-blue eyes flutter. Shoko can see how his body visibly relaxes.

She laughs heartily. "Oh, Satoru. You're down bad for Suguru, huh?"

"I'm not!" Satoru still vehemently denies it.

"Really? What if I told you Suguru is still with Haibara now?"

Gojo's tenses up again. For a second, Shoko thinks Satoru will use blue on her. She mocks his stupidity.

"I'm kidding, damn it! Suguru is just outside your door. Geto! Come inside! You have to see this!"

The door flies open at once. Geto steps inside the room, his eyes darting to Satoru at once.

"Satoru," Geto looks apologetic. "Don't be—"

"I'm not jealous!" Satoru misinterprets Suguru again. He thought Geto was about to say, "Don't be jealous anymore."

Satoru is really crazy!

"I can't believe what I'm seeing now." Shoko's stomach hurts from laughing. "Look, Suguru. I'll show you a magic trick."

Shoko waves a thermometer in the air. "Satoru is sick because of jealousy."

"For the last time, I am not jealous!" Gojo's voice is a mola mola fish in the ocean. No one bothers with him, mainly because everyone knows he's lying. Shoko is right. Satoru is running a fever because he refuses to admit he's feeling jealous.

"Here's the magic trick." Shoko shows the thermometer to Suguru. Gojo's temperature is 38 degrees Celsius. "Humor me, Suguru. Aren't you with Haibara all day? Didn't I just force you to visit Satoru here?"

It's false. Suguru followed Satoru earlier when he threw a tantrum and ran away. Geto stayed outside his best friend's room and only decided to call Shoko to check in on Satoru when he heard Satoru groaning.

Geto dared not even enter Satoru's room until Shoko called him. He is afraid that Satoru is mad at him.

But Shoko clearly wants Suguru to lie. With a heavy heart, he humored Shoko and said, "Yes."

Megumi gasps at the abrupt pain that shoots his heart. His Gojo-sensei's heart is broken into thousands of pieces.

Shoko is delighted. She gets Satoru's temperature using the no-contact thermometer.

"Look, his temperature went up to 39 degrees!"

"Shoko," Geto warns. He didn't realize that Shoko was planning something this evil. He feels bad for Satoru now.

"What? This is fucking golden. I didn't know it was possible to get sick because of jealousy, poor Satoru."

"That's it." Geto gently pulls Shoko's hand and pushes her out of the room.

Satoru exhaled in relief, especially when Suguru sat on his bed and caressed his jaw.

"Satoru~ Shoko and I are just joking. Don't be mad anymore, and please eat."

Gojo feels the heaviness of his body weighing him down. He's used his energy getting annoyed at Haibara earlier and now Shoko. It's funny because he rarely gets tired, but his heart is so heavy that he wants to rest his head on Suguru's lap right now.

If Haibara can weep on Shoko's lap, who can stop Satoru from doing the same with Suguru?

Satoru snuggles closer to Suguru. The latter indulges him.

"I'll eat later. Let me play with your hair first."

Suguru responds by lowering his head to let Satoru touch his hair to his heart's content.

Megumi's aching heart starts to calm down, too. Oddly enough, he feels content and sleepy. He's pretty sure this is all because of what his sensei feels.

Megumi closes his eyes, and when he opens them a few seconds later, he realizes he's already back in the present.

"Finally!" Maki wipes the sweat on her forehead after countless attempts to wake her junior.

"Maki-senpai. How long have I been unconscious?"

"Long enough to worry your senpai, but not your sensei."

Megumi scowls upon hearing that familiar, irritating voice. He tilts his head to the side only to see Gojo leaning on a wall, his posture languid as he smiles lazily at Megumi.

"Welcome back, Megumi-chan. How was your trip?"

Megumi sits up and holds his head before answering Gojo, "It's awful. I've seen an annoying man who got jealous of his junior for hanging out with his best friend."

To Megumi's surprise, Gojo did not react too violently. In fact, he simply curves the corner of his mouth.

The blindfold covers the emotions in his eyes. Megumi isn't sure if it's still the effect of touching the katana, but he feels a slight pang in his chest when Gojo speaks.

"Those were the good old days, huh?"

They were, indeed. Megumi refuses to say more. He just realizes something.

Lesson learned: Don't casually touch a katana if you don't want to be forced to feel Gojo-sensei's emotions. Spoiler alert: it's the worst.

Gojo-sensei's heart is big but heavy.

Megumi is in his 3rd year in elementary when he finds out that Gojo can't let go of that man named Geto Suguru.

It's one afternoon. Tsumiki is still at summer camp while Megumi lazes around their home. He lives with his Gojo-sensei. Mr. Ijichi often drops by, too, so when the doorbell rings, Megumi immediately assumes it is Mr. Ijichi.

To his surprise, it is Geto waiting by the door.

"Hello, little one." Geto offers him a smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes. Megumi has a feeling that Geto isn't fond of his appearance.

"You're looking for Gojo-sensei, right? I'll call him." Megumi turns to leave but doesn't get too far as Gojo is already rushing toward the door.

"Hello, Satoru." Geto greets Satoru the same way he greeted Megumi—only that his purple eyes shine a little, and his voice drops an octave.

Gojo composes himself before nodding at Geto casually. "Come in, Suguru."

Megumi retreats, but he's still close enough to hear what the older men talk about.

Geto Suguru doesn't enter their abode.

"You tricked me, Satoru."

Sure, he did. Gojo deposited a huge sum of money into Suguru's business account. Manami, Suguru's secretary, says that an anonymous depositor is willing to give them more money as long as Geto personally pays him a visit to exorcise a curse.

Geto finds it interesting, so he agrees to meet the mysterious monkey. It is already too late when he realizes that only Gojo is insane enough to do this.

"I didn't trick you, Suguru." Satoru leans on the door frame. His heavy eyes pierce Suguru. "I seriously need you to exorcise a curse."

It's bullshit, and they both know it. Satoru is the strongest. He can exorcise any type of curse without a sweat. Satoru doesn't need Suguru. He never did.

But Suguru folds his arms across his chest, deciding to see what Satoru's plan is.

"Alright, Sa-to-ru." Megumi doesn't miss the way Geto pronounces his sensei's name. It is deeply indulgent as if he's savoring every syllable of his name. "Where's the curse I need to exorcise?"

"Here." Satoru doesn't hesitate to point at his chest. "It's in my heart, Suguru. Go on, dig it and take it away with you."

It's the most Suguru can get from Satoru, and he knows it. It's been years since they parted ways in Shinjuku. Everything is a blur to Satoru back then. He is confused and hurt, and for the first time, he gets to know what it feels like to be lost.

To this day, Geto Suguru is and will always be Gojo Satoru's only weakness.

"It looks like there is a misunderstanding here." Geto turns a blind eye. He told himself many times that he could no longer indulge Satoru. He's not in the position to do that; frankly, he doesn't want to. Not anymore.

"I'll tell my secretary to return the 30 million yen to you. Goodbye, Satoru."

If there's one thing you need to know about Gojo Satoru, it's that he never begs. He has been spoiled rotten since he was a child. There is nothing in this world he can't get with just a snap of his fingers.

Geto Suguru is the only exception.

Satoru's heart is set ablaze. The scorching heat burns his face, neck, and hands, so he holds onto Suguru's robe, desperately trying to get him to stay.

"I'll double it." Satoru's Adam's apple bobs. "Didn't your cult need more money? I've donated before. I'm donating again. 60 million yen. How about that? Will you stay here for an hour to get your sixty million, Suguru?"

Geto presses his lips into a thin line. 60million yen. It is equivalent to one million yen per minute. Satoru is buying his time for a precious price.

"Satoru," but Geto can't.

Gojo can. Satoru holds tightly on Suguru's robe. He bargains, "100 million yen."

Geto gulps. It's tempting, but...

"150 million yen, Suguru." Please. Gojo wants to say, but he doesn't. He can't.

"I don't think so." Geto turns to leave. His parting image angers Gojo. He screams.

"Geto Suguru, come back here!" Satoru is seething. How can Suguru leave him so easily!? "Why are you being so unfair right now!? I am a client, too! You indulge 'your monkeys' for thousands of yen but can't do the same to me? Do you hold them in a higher value than me!?"

This sounds familiar. Megumi thinks in the corner. He had heard this tone before. His Gojo-sensei is acting jealous again.

"Why?" Geto stops and turns to face Satoru. He quirks his brow, "Are you jealous, Satoru?"

"Do not insult me!" Satoru's jaw ticks. "Just answer, Suguru. I'll give you 500 million yen right now. Just stay here with me. An hour is all I need."

Geto has his principles, but he is not dumb. 500 million yen is enough to sustain his organization for a long time.

He smirked and shrugged, "I guess I can spare half an hour."

It's non-negotiable, so all Satoru can do is concede. He watches as Suguru enters his home and pats Megumi on the head.

"I guess you're stuck with me for a while, little one."

Megumi keeps his mouth glued together, realization hitting him.

Lesson learned: Don't make Gojo-sensei feel jealous of monkeys. Otherwise, he can and will burn millions of dollars.

𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 4:

When he was in 4th grade, Megumi thought his Gojo-sensei was going bankrupt. Satoru meets up with Geto almost daily, and Megumi knows how much money he pays Suguru for just a little time.

Today, Gojo brought Megumi and Tsumiki to his date with Suguru and his two daughters. They're in a fancy restaurant.

"Geto-sama, I want a crepe." Nanako bats her eyelashes at her father.

Geto smiles and faces Satoru. Suguru doesn't need to speak to convey his wants. Satoru understands it.

Unfortunately, Satoru cannot give in to Suguru.

"I don't have enough money anymore."

The people at their table freeze, including Megumi. His heart is beating fast. He wants to berate Gojo for buying him and Tsumiki a two thousand dollars worth of jacket yesterday.

"Oh?" Geto did not get angry at all. He even smiles at Satoru. "That's okay, I guess. I can use my charms or simply kill that waitress."

"Suguru," Satoru warns. He's too serious. It makes Geto chortle.

"Charms it is, then," Suguru calls the waitress' attention.

Admittedly, the waitress had been eyeing Suguru since they had entered the restaurant. The blush on her face is bright red. Satoru lost count of how often he had seen the waitress bat her eyelashes at Suguru.

"Is it possible to get a free crepe for my little sister right here? It's her birthday today."

"Hah!" Satoru interjects. Now, Geto is referring to Nanako as his sibling!? Why!? Did he want to appear like a generous brother?

Satoru feels his blood boil. He hmph-ed. "Nanako, your father is such a joker. He called you little sister instead of baby daughter."

Mimiko and Nanako aren't wary of Gojo anymore. After all, he buys them whatever they ask. However, Nanako still can't fully side with Satoru. She and Mimiko never interfere with their Geto-sama's work.

"You're a father?" The waitress widens her eyes. Rather than feeling disappointed, she just giggles. "Single father, I suppose? Man, single daddies are hot."

Megumi sighs as he watches things unfold. He knows this is going to happen. His sensei has always been the jealous type. He ruins things more because of his possessiveness. He's just lucky Geto never really took his jealousy to heart.

Geto smiles and spreads his legs. He caresses Nanako and Mimiko's hair. "It's hard for my girls, though. They've been craving a mother's love."

Suguru suddenly looks solemn. His tantalizing gaze makes the waitress' heart throb. She pushes a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"You know, I can be—"

Satoru cuts off the waitress by clearing his throat. The girl immediately turns to him. Her flirtatious smile melts when she sees Gojo's ashen face.

Gojo lets go of his fork and pretends to cough violently.

"Sir, are you okay?" The waitress attends to Gojo at once.

Gojo shakes his head. "No, I think there's something on my food. It's too spicy. Is this how you usually serve this?"

Gojo is eating a cake. A fucking cake! How can it be spicy?

"Or did you accidentally sprinkle chilli in my cake because you're too busy flirting with your customer?"

"A-Ah!" The waitress is startled. She looks like she has seen a ghost. "My apologies, Sir. I'll return this to the kitchen and get you another slice of cake."

The waitress instantly takes the plate away from Gojo before turning to look at Nanako. She doesn't bother glancing at Geto when she says, "I'll get your crepe too, Mam. Both the cake and crepe are on the house."

"Satoru, that's not very nice," Geto speaks when the waitress can no longer hear them.

Gojo ignores Suguru and just hands him his black card. "I'll pay for the cake and Nanako's crepe. I don't want to receive anything from that girl."

Nanako squints her eyes and interjects the conversation. "Why? Do you hate her, Gojo-sama? Are you jealous of her?"

Don't say that, idiot! Megumi thinks to himself while looking at Nanako. He's seen his Gojo-sensei deny his jealousy more than once. All instances didn't end well. Megumi is sure the same thing will happen today.

Truth be told, Gojo takes back his black card.

"I changed my mind. I'll only pay for the cake."

"But—" Nanako wants to argue, but Mimiko stops her.

Good. At least your twin is not that much of an idiot. Megumi muses before releasing a deep sigh.

Lesson learned: Don't make Gojo-sensei jealous if you don't want to lose your job.

Or if you want a free dessert.

Megumi is already in the 6th grade when he gets to know that his Gojo-sensei is the most jealous man he knows.

Satoru got jealous of a waitress, children, clients, and even his friend. Megumi would have never thought that Gojo would stoop down to the level of getting jealous over a curse.

A curse!

It's the usual night for Geto and Gojo. They're watching a random movie while Megumi sits in the corner to do his homework.

Megumi suddenly hears his sensei say, "Ugh, Suguru. Why is your curse so clingy? It keeps wanting to rub its stupid head on your lap!"

The curse that disgusts Satoru is the one from Toji Fushiguro. It's ugly, and Gojo hates how it keeps calling Suguru 'mommy,'

"Satoru, can we just watch the movie?" Sometimes, Suguru can't help but give in to his vices. He wraps his hand around Gojo's shoulder and pulls him closer to him.

Greediness clings to Satoru's heart more. It makes him want to exorcise the curse and be the one rubbing on Suguru's lap.

Me! Me! That should be me! Megumi knows his sensei all too well by now. He can almost hear the older man's thoughts inside his head.

For once, Megumi decides to do his sensei a favor, so he secretly summons his divine dogs to 'play' with Geto's curse.

Satoru then happily snuggles into Suguru's lap.

Megumi slumps on his desk.

Lesson learned: if you want to finish your homework earlier, make sure not to get Gojo-sensei jealous over a curse. Otherwise, you won't be able to concentrate on studying because of his loud whines.

The last time Megumi saw his Gojo-sensei get jealous was right before he entered Jujutsu Tech. Coincidentally, it is also the first time Gojo vocally admits his emotions.

Satoru thought Geto was slowly giving up his cult, mainly because he mostly spends his days cuddling with Gojo, so it was a surprise when Suguru declared war against Jujutsu Tech.

Megumi wasn't a formal jujutsu student then, so he wasn't allowed to join the war. He stayed at home with Tsumiki but rushed to Jujutsu Tech when he found out Maki, his aunt, was injured.

Megumi has actually met his seniors already. Gojo sometimes allows them to train together, as it is only a matter of time before Megumi formally joins them.

Thankfully, Maki is alright. Everyone rejoices and congratulates Yuuta Okkotsu for defeating a special-grade but evil sorcerer named Geto Suguru.

"Where is Gojo-sensei?" Megumi's face is pale. His heart is cold while the sorcerers relish Geto's defeat.

It was Panda who told Megumi that Gojo Satoru was off to finish Geto Suguru.

Megumi's already pale face turns even whiter. His whole system just refuses to accept the fact that Gojo is going to be the one to kill his one and only.

It's just not possible.

Until it isn't.

Megumi finds Gojo and Geto in an alley.  His heart is in his throat as he takes a step closer to the two strongest men he knows. Unfortunately, Megumi can't sense two curse energies.

There is only one, and it belongs to Satoru.

"Gojo-sensei."

Megumi long understands that he isn't expressive like any other kid. He's stoic and even refuses to save people just because it's the 'right' thing to do. He has his own set of morals, and right now, his mind and heart tell him to call on his sensei.

But Satoru is inconsolable. It's hard to tell if he feels anything at all. He removed his blindfold, but Megumi still can't see his eyes.

Gojo's back faces Megumi. He immediately shields Suguru’s dead body with his body.

Gojo Satoru doesn't want Megumi or anyone else to see his one and only.

He is mine. Gojo’s shaking shoulders seem to say. Megumi takes the hint. He walks to a corner and sits there. He's just a meter away from Gojo and Geto, but he can't see them—he can only see their shadows.

The silence is deafening. Megumi swears he can even hear Gojo gripping Geto's body and tightly embracing it in his arms.

He doesn't want to let go. He will never let go.

Megumi looks up at the sky. It's getting dark. The purple and orange skies slowly merge, giving off a brownish light.

Megumi briefly wonders what Gojo feels now. If Satoru wants, he can activate hollow purple. He can use his power and just end it all.

Isn't it what Gojo feels right now? Empty?

What is the point of life without Suguru by his side?

What is the point of being the strongest if it is used to kill the only person he truly and wholeheartedly loved?

Suguru.

Geto Suguru.

"What do you plan on doing about his body?" Megumi asks tentatively. He can't bring himself to say Suguru's name. He feels like Gojo will think he's unworthy of it.

Megumi isn't expecting a response from his sensei, but Gojo answers anyway.

“You are the only one who knows how jealous I can get, Megumi.” It is a threat. Gojo’s voice is stone cold when he says, "No one is allowed to touch him."

Not you. Not the higher-ups. Not even Shoko. They don't deserve Geto Suguru. Perhaps even Satoru doesn't. He killed him, and now he is afraid—so afraid that handing Geto to anybody else will make this all real—that he's really gone.

Satoru is afraid they'll taint Suguru's body more. The thought of it makes Gojo's stomach turn.

He wants to fucking vomit.

"Gojo-sensei," Megumi calls again. He doesn't have anything to say. He just feels like calling his sensei is the right thing to do.

Megumi's heart aches. He doesn't say anything more. He doesn't dare comfort Gojo because he doesn't know, and he will never understand what his sensei feels.

Still, Megumi wants Gojo to know he's here.

Silence engulfs them.

It takes a few more minutes before Gojo stands up. Megumi doesn't look up but knows his sensei is carrying Geto's body.

Satoru walks away, burying Suguru's face in his chest. Blood drips along the way.

This time, Megumi doesn't follow Gojo. He just watches him walk farther away from him.

No one knows the exact location where Satoru brought Suguru. But it is definitely in a place where the sky is open. Satoru lays Suguru's dead body on the grass.

Satoru stares at Suguru's face, gently wiping the blood off his skin. He frees Suguru's hair and fixes his robe.

He looks at Suguru one last time.

It's already dark.

The first snowfall of the year falls.

Today is December 24, 2017.

Satoru lets the snowflakes hit his skin.

It's cold, washing away the last trace of Suguru's warmth that clings to his body.

Satoru looks up at the sky.

The snowflakes continue to fall.

Satoru smiles, and then he walks away.

Ten steps later, he looks back to see Suguru one last time.

Satoru loses his smile.

He continues walking away.

The snowfall is heavier now.

The warm atmosphere is gone. It even froze the tears in Gojo Satoru's eyes.

They are right, after all. Geto was Gojo's first and last warm spring of youth.
