“We will supply you with all the necessary tools and might to retrieve your… weapon. In return, you will use that weapon–” Eyes reopening, he stares down the king, unblinking and determined. “–to crush Strawhat Luffy.”
“Black-leg Sanji dies.” He continues. “Vinsmoke Sanji lives. How does that sound?”
Yet they don't know just what they're unleashing — so blinded by their own hubris, they don't consider the dangers of removing such a carefully crafted muzzle. Too big to fall, their plan too thorough. By the time they realize, it will be too late.
A beast unmuzzled still has fangs.
And all with teeth will bite.

Across from him, Zoro shifts. “...there was a cake island?” His head shoots up to stare at the swordsman with growing dread. “Marimo. Mosshead. You stupid, sweaty chunk of sentient seaweed. Please. Please tell me you know something, anything about what happened.” “Well, I know there was an island made of cake…” He replies, scratching at his chin. Sanji responds by screaming into his hands. “You didn't talk to Luffy or Nami about any of it?! “No.” The word is said without an ounce of regret, arms crossing. “All I needed to know was that he brought everyone to Wano. The rest… the rest is up to you.” “Huh?” “The only person who can tell your story is you, cook. I don't want to hear it from anyone else.” “I'm okay with them telling you… whatever you need to know.” Shame fills Sanji even as he says it. If Zoro agrees with the sentiment, he doesn't let it show, face carefully neutral. “I still don't wanna hear it. If you can't say it yet, that's fine, I'll wait. But it has to be you.” “You might be waiting a long time, marimo.” “That's okay.” “Is it though?” “Yep.” “Even if it endangers you?” His earrings jingle as he tilts his head. “Do you think it will?” “I'm don't…” “Then we'll just have to handle it when it comes.” He says with a shrug, unbother by the uncertainty plaguing his blond companion. Hands falling away to hang limp, Sanji stares at Zoro tiredly. This... Buddha-ass bastard. “Why aren't you angry?” “I was at first.” The answer is swift but said without accusation. “But Pekoms cleared up the worst of it-” “So you do know something.” “-and it made sense why you would do something so stupid.” A growl escapes Sanji’s throat as familiar anger bubbles up. “It's easy for you to call it stupid, but I didn’t have any other fucking choice. You had to have known that if Pekoms ‘cleared things up’. Had to have known what was on the line.” “Was it your only choice, curly?” Zoro meets him head on. “You could of fought back and escaped-” “Then they would have killed Zeff!” He jerks in his seat, leaning forward on his palms with teeth gnashing at Zoro in rage. “There wasn't time to wait! If I didn't show, he would have been the one to pay!” He doesn't match the rise, instead watching him calmly, letting the words wash over him. “Then why didn't you just say that in your note instead of that bullshit about a girl?” “Because-because…” Slumping back, the anger gave way to exhaustion, and he can't stop the hand that tugs at his hair, pointedly ignoring Zoro's displeased gaze. “Because you guys couldn't afford to be distracted, Zoro. We were about to go up against an Emperor and didn't know what to expect. I couldn't bare the idea of dragging you guys into my mess.” (Eyes down, Sanji misses the way Zoro reels as if slapped by the oddly familiar words.)
Fiddling with his own hand, rubbing at his knuckles, Sanji takes a stuttering breath. “Also, um, Zoro… you know all that goes for you as well. You're m-my best fu-friennn-frr-” “Wow, curlique, you really know how to make a guy feel loved. Gunna start coughing up blood next?” A green brow twitches, unimpressed by his struggle. “Shut up, don't ruin this you ass! I'm trying! You stupid-I'm not the only dumb self-sacrificing bastard on this crew! Don't forget, I know how you are, marimo!”
Yep. Sanji felt no romantic inclinations for him. Absolutely none. Nada. Zilch… Not… not even a little… …. ‘FUCK.’

Brows lifting to meet his hairline, Usopp coughs into a hand. “You… know he's gay right?” Sanji sighs, half-heartedly tracing the grooves in the table with a finger. “That’s homophobic rhetoric used to convince bigots that queer attraction is a constant barrage that must be stopped. Just because someone is gay does not mean they're attracted to every member of that gender nor is attraction an attack. Suggesting as much is both incorrect and conceited – haters are never as attractive as they believe.” “…” He doesn't have to look at Usopp to feel the baffled stare. “...Sorry. Force of habit. Shitty Queen was a demon and had that drilled into me in the first year.” “Oooooh! Yeah, ok, I can see that.” Then he frowns. “Wait, you knew all that but not the term ‘bisexual’? How – actually, never mind. Probably got blocked out in some weird sort of self-preservation from your subconscious like with Kokoro.” “Hey.” Just because it's true doesn't mean he should say it. Shitty longnose bastard.“Well it's that or faking my death and changing my name but I'm pretty attached to you guys.” “What?!” “Joking!” Sort of. “It's not funny!” He snaps, rabbit punching Sanji hard in the shoulder. “You're seriously taking this too far! It would not be the end of the world for you and Zoro to be together!” "Not happening! It's a bad idea! We're a bad idea!” -
