Xiè Lián has barely righted herself when she hears the stranger speak for the first time.
“There's no need. I do this because I want to. Your mother doesn't need to bother waiting to speak with me.”
Deep and raspy, feminine with an edge, something about the woman's voice made Xiè Lián freeze. She felt tingly all over, goosebumps on her skin, but she wasn't afraid.
Before she could bring herself back to reality the voice spoke again.
“That is, unless she had any requests of her own?”
