Summary
Jason would love to hide in his room and analyze the musical "Epic" with Dick for hours on end, forgetting all about everyone who thinks he's street trash. Especially Tim Drake.
Tim just wants his hero to not hate him.
In which misunderstandings abound, friends are made, and secrets can only be buried for so long.

Ch 3 Excerpt: 'Jason ran a hand absently through his curls, searching Tim’s eyes for any sign of a lie. “You’re serious?”
Tim nodded rapidly.
A cough of a laugh left Jason. “Well, da– dang. So you weren’t just being a shallow rich—” He let out a breath that made a motorboat sound on his lips, then glanced up at Tim sideways with a faint sparkle in his eye. “Sorry for accusing you of killing my sheep.”
Tim laughed, the sound a little more sure this time. “Sorry for killing it.”
Jason shook himself and shoved his earbuds into his backpack. “Hey, you wanna come over to my place this afternoon by any chance? I can give you a proper introduction to that musical. Context included this time.”
Ch 16 Excerpt: “I know you meant nothing but the best. But my dear boy… how shall I put this?” Alfred’s gentle gaze met Jason’s. “Sometimes justice is about more than exacting an eye for an eye. Justice in its purest form about taking a wrong and putting it to rights, whatever that means. And sometimes, that means letting go of the vengeance the perpetrator deserves so that you can prioritize the healing the victim deserves." He clasped a hand around Jason's. "A wound stitched must come before a wound dealt. That is at the heart of Robin, Master Jason.”
“Those of us who write, who sing, who paint, must remember that to a child a song may glow like a nightlight in a scary bedroom. It may be the only thing holding back the monsters. That story may be the only beautiful, true thing that makes it through all the ugliness of a little girl’s world to rest in her secret heart. May we take that seriously. It is our job, it is our ministry, it is the sword we swing in the Kingdom, to remind children that the good guys win, that the stories are true, and that a fool’s hope may be the best kind.” ~Andrew Peterson
