Chapter Text

Raccoon city September 1998,

The smell of decay and blood lingers in the air. The entire city seems like it’s shrouded in a deep cover of a grey fog. The groans of the undead and sirens brings noise to the devastated city. Cars and corpses are littered on the streets, and instead of trying to search for survivors. Leon S. Kennedy is trapped in the raccoon city to Police Department, avoiding dying to the undead and the ungodly monsters he’s trapped with.

“just my fucking luck.” Leon thought to himself, as he runs through the monster infested halls of the RDP building. His first day on the job and the entire city is in ruins. His future coworkers, now zombies, were trying to kill him, other mutated monsters were around every other corner, and the final cherry on top was the 7 foot humanoid killing machine hellbent on his demise. What an amazing first day!

The only other person he knows is alive in this hellhole is Claire, who he had ran into before he made it into this ungodly city. Okay, maybe following a trail of blood into a gas station wasn’t his best move. although he couldn’t even call for back up if he wanted. How the hell did this even happen? Was the only thing going through his head.

The city was nothing more than a graveyard with walking corpses, and now him and Claire are stuck here. Leon slid to stop in front of the staircase leading downstairs, his ammo was running out and the main hall was filled to the brim with zombies. he just need to find something to craft in ammo.

The east office is just downstairs, last time he was in there he remember seeing some gunpowder. Maybe you can find the more materials and get enough ammo to shoot his way to his storage container. Soft patter of his steps echoes as he rushes down the staircase.

Leon quietly creeps down the hallway, keep an eye out for zombies or lickers, but it seems no more has come over to the side of the building since he cleared them out earlier. Leon quietly opens the back door to the east office. He peers in and scans the room. It was quiet, there’s no undead or other monsters, he could see or hear.

He walked in and close the door behind him. Leon stood there for a second taking in the noises around him. He could hear the undead in the hallways and the sirens from outside. but the noise broke the silence.

Thump thump thump

The sound of the heavy footsteps startled, Leon.
“Shit it’s up stairs” Leon mumble to himself. Leon looked over towards the row of desks. his eyes widened “Where did the gunpowder go?” he rushed over to the desk he saw the gunpowder on earlier, it was gone. The rookie began frantically, looking on and through all the desks.

There was nothing. Leon felt the world spinning around him as he slowly backed up. He felt his hands come up to his hair. “I swear there was gunpowder there earlier.” he whispered, he was now standing at the back wall, which was lined with desks.

Thump thump thump

It’s getting closer. “Fuck I’m gonna have to outrun the bastard, aren’t I?” Laugh at himself, a cold, broken laugh. Leon looked over at the front door of the east office, maybe running through water zombies would be better, but before he could decide which would be less painful death, he felt something wrapped around his ankle.

The feeling of teeth sinking into his calf made the young rookie cry out. everything happened in a moment. The young blonde grabbed the knife Marvin gave him and drove it into his attacker. He felt his flesh rip as he ran to the desks in the middle of the room.

There is a zombie under the desk, it was missing its lower half. It looked eerie, similar to the cop. Leon had seen get torn in half when he first entered the RPD building. “how the hell did I not see that?” the rookie cursed at himself. The zombie started dragging itself forward the knife still embedded in skull, it have a blood trail behind it with some of its organs, dragging behind.

Leon grabbed Matilda from her holster, and shot three rounds into the zombies head. The blonde couldn’t help but stare down with pity at the undead man. Why did things have to be this way? he asked himself. The rookie pulled the knife out of the mutilated mans skull, wiping the blood and flesh off of it before putting it back on his belt.

Thump thump thump

You need to run. The young man looked down at his calf that’s now missing a chunk of flesh out of it. He needs to get medical supplies.

Thump thump thump

It’s almost here. “What a rookie move Leon you dumbass.” The blonde whispered, while staring at the back door. “you can’t die here.” Leon sighed as he limp his way towards the door.

Thump thump thump

The tyrant sounded like it was down the hallway, that could give Leon enough time to make it to the main hall. Maybe he could craft ammo and fix his leg. The rookie grabbed the handle and took a deep breath in before yanking it open, but instead of seeing an escape route his vision was obscured by an obsidian trenchcoat.

“SHIT” Leon screamed, before slamming the door shut and stumbling back. The door slammed open, as the tyrant ducked through the door, its white eyes borrowed into the rookie. its eyes reminded him of a dead person’s eyes. there was nothing behind them.

They both stood there for a moment, the blonde man was frozen as the tyrant just glared daggers into his smaller form. It looks so much bigger from this distance, Leon could see the details of its face even with its black Fedora shadowing half of it.

It looked human, but it definitely wasn’t. It had gray wrinkled skin, with blank white eyes. It had to be at least 7 feet tall, whatever it was, and it was relentless. It’s been following the rookie for hours. Leon shuttered at the thought of what it could do to him.

The first time he saw it was after it picked up the wreckage of the helicopter that hit the building. Leon‘s been doing his best to keep his distance, the one time he got too close it tried to punch him. thankfully it missed, but it hit the brick wall behind him. Leon has never seen a human break a brick wall with just a fist.

The blonde was snapped out of his trance after the tyrant started its advance towards. “STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!” The blonde shrieked at the giant man, as he stumbled away from its grasp.

The tyrant might be big, but it is slow. If Leon could run fast enough, he could get past it. The rookie waited till the tyrant stepped forward and made a dash for the door behind the tyrant. but before he could even get past the frame he felt a hand grab the back of his Kevlar vest. oh fuck me.

Before Leon could even say that or fight back, the tyrant threw him full force across the room. The rookie felt his body slam full force into the brick wall, he heard the sound of his ribs crack, the pain as the air from his lungs were forced out, the ringing in his ears and the sheer terror that he couldn’t feel his body.

Leon felt his body fall face first on the cold tile floor, before he went limp. Some of his ribs felt broken, he couldn’t catch his breath, and that wretched ringing he was hearing hurt.

The rookies arms trembled as attempted to push himself off the floor, the pain that shot through his body was blinding. Leon looked up at the tyrant approaching him with his blurry vision, his eyes water as he fell down again.

Everything felt like it was going in slow motion, he felt his chest resting against the cold floor, with his arms laying limp slightly above his head. he had to get up, he needs to find Claire. She can’t die here too. It doesn’t matter if he makes it out as long as he can save her and anyone else he can find. You have to get up Leon.

Leon took a deep breath, then as he propped himself up on his elbows he pulled Matilda out of her holster and pointed her towards the tyrants head before pulling the trigger. The sound of five gunshots rang out as he tried to stun the tyrant.

Leon’s blue eyes stared in disbelief “HE’S FUCKING BULLETPROOF!?” the blonde choked out. The tyrant had stopped, one of the bullets had manage to hit off its hat, it paused as it watched its fedora fall to the floor.

That seemed to piss it off, the tyrant looked at Leon with an angry glint and its eye, as it started stomping towards him. It was halfway at Leon now, but as it got closer, Leon saw something. Small little device on it left temple. it looks similar to an USB drive. That might affect it. Leon focused his gun on the device, he only had a few it’s left. Maybe he could stun it long enough for him to get away. Leon emptied he’s gun as he shot at the device.

The rookie felt his arms go back on the ground, he felt he let go of Matilda and heard as she fell away from him. his vision started to blurred from the pain. in the corner of his vision he saw the tyrant stumbling back and grab at its head. Leon let out a small chuckle ”ha…come on it’s your chance to run you waste of space…you need to get up…..” he muttered as the ringing in his ear grew louder.

The room began to spin as the young man’s energy left his body. He could hear the tyrant stumbling around the other end of the room, before his vision faded to black.
