Mothers Day

Chapter 3: Celestial Visit

Summary:

Stolas and his family go visit his mother in the stars.

Notes:

Huge thanks to my good friend, Thecat1987, for her help with this and for her permission to use her OC, Selene.

I wanted to get Octavia and Vassago involve this time since in her other stories, only Stolas and Paimon visited her.

I don’t wanna drag the conversations too much but I wanted Selene sympathize with her husband about the whole marriage thing.
I can see her as being an understanding, woman and supportive of her family.

I took off Mr. Butler from the tags because I forgot to add them and didn’t know how to do that now.

And I’m sorry it’s way past Mother’s Day, but I was stuck on doing this particular chapter.

Enjoy!

Chapter Text

Stolas was in the kitchen drinking coffee and his daughter came in to sit with him.

“Morning dad.” She greeted with a yawn.

“Good morning, my sweet owlet.” Stolas smiled as he poured some coffee for her, “How was your sleep?”

“It was alright. Also, I’m not sure if you saw what today is, but I’m not planning on seeing mom.”

Her father nodded in understanding because ever since the divorce, Octavia grew distance from her mother, and Stella made no attempts to try and get her back.

“I understand, dear, but I have a better solution to spend this day.”

“What is it?” She asked after adding some sugar to her coffee.

“Well, how would you like to come with me, your grandfather, and your uncle Vassago visit my mother?” Stolas asked softly.

Octavia was surprised by this because she never really got to meet her grandmother before; there was only one time that they had met and that’s when she was a newborn baby. But Stolas said that she’s been so busy that it’s been hard to keep in contact, much less visit her.

“Sure. I don’t mind at all.” She gave a soft smile.

“Splendid!” Stolas smiled happily, “They’ll be here in a couple hours and we can get ready after we finish breakfast.”

“Sounds good to me.”

After they finished breakfast, they both got dressed in their finest and waited for Paimon and Vassago to arrive.

A couple hours past before the servants let in both Goetias.

“Welcome father and Vassago.” Stolas bowed to him.

“Hello grandfather and uncle.” Octavia did the same.

“Buenos Dias!” Vassgo opened his arms.

He hugged his brother and niece and even Paimon hugged them.

“It’s so good to see all of you.” Paimon smiled at his family, “It’s been a long time since we’ve been together like this.”

“Forgive me, father. I just been so busy lately.” Stolas said, “But I’m happy that I’ll tell you will join us to visit mother.”

“Yeah me too. Do you think she’ll like me?” Octavia asked.

“Oh I’m sure she will, sobrina’.” Vassago patted her shoulder, “I know your grandfather has talked about you and us a few times he was able to visit our mother. And the last time I’ve seen her when you were little, she said she hopes to see you someday.”

“Oh, sounds wonderful.”

“Okay everyone! Let’s go!” Stolas clapped his hands.

They all went to the observatory where they could travel to the stars together.

“Are you ready?” asked Paimon.

Stolas, Vassago, and Octavia smiled at each other before saying yes to him. Using his magic, Paimon summoned a portal that took them to space and made sure everyone was turning before closing it.

"What is this place?" Octavia wondered as she looked around.

"Where the power of the stars shines the brightest, my dear.” Paimon explained, a rare softness in his voice.

"My father took me here a long time ago once. It meant so much to me," Stolas smiled, taking his daughter's hand.

“ I haven’t been to this place in such a long time.” Vassago added softly.

“It’s beautiful..” Octavia sad as a small smile formed.

Then, there was a form of sparkly energy, appearing in front of them, and look up, there’s a beautiful figure floating down very gracefully.
The person looked very much like Stolas only with an extra set of eyes, a beautiful elegant dress, and long hair with a tiara.

“Selene…” Paimon said in a hushed voice.

“Hello my love. It’s been a long time.” She said lovingly.

Paimon, slowly, approached his wife, and after dating each other’s arms, they shared a kiss. Despite being distant for so long, they truly loved each other.

“It’s wonderful to see you again, my darling.” He said as he looked into her eyes.

“As do I, dear Paimon. I’m so happy you could come and visit me.”

“Of course. After all, I’ve been meaning to see for a while now and today is a perfect day to do it. I even brought some special guest with me.”

He stepped aside so Selene could see her two boys standing in front of her with loving smiles on their faces.

“Stolas. Vassago.” She said she opened her arms.

Not wasting any time, both young men went to their mother and gave her a warm embrace. It’s been so long since they’ve seen their mother, and they even almost cried being in her arms again.

“We missed you so much, mother.” Stolas try to keep himself from crying.

“It’s been so long, madré.” Vassago said as he hugged tighter.

“My dearest boys.” Selene held them close, “My heart is filled with joy now that you’re here with your father. And look at how you both grown. your father has been telling me about your accomplishments and I am so proud of you both.”

“Thank you, mother.” Stolas hold away for a moment, “And happy Mother’s Day.”

“Feliz Dia de las Madres, mama.” Vassgo did the same.

“Thank you both so much.”

She hurt them again, and when she looked up, she saw the young owl girl standing close by and immediately knew who it was.

“Is this Octavia?” She asked.

“Yes. This is my daughter and she wanted to see you.” Stolas answered as he motioned his daughter to come closer.

Octavia walked towards him and gave a polite curtsey see as soon as she stood in front of her grandmother.

“Hello grandmother.” Octavia looked up at her.

“Oh my, look at how you’ve grown.” Selene said as she placed both hands on her shoulders, “I haven’t seen you since you were a tiny infant. You look so much like your father.”

“Thank you. I heard many things about you too and I’m glad to finally meet you.”

Selene smiled and gave her granddaughter a warm hug. it’s the first time they met in years and she was glad it was a happy one.

“It’s wonderful to see all of you again. This is the best Mother’s Day present ever.” She said with a loving expression.

“We wanted a perfect time to visit you, my love.” Paimon said, “We have a lot of catching up to do.”

“Absolutely.”

They went to an asteroid formation and set up a picnic with pillows and blankets so there would be more comfy; they had tea and snacks that acquired for everybody’s taste and interests.

“So, has your father been teaching you magic?” Selene asked her granddaughter.

“Oh yes.” Octavia nodded, “It’s been going good and I even learned a couple new spells.”

“I am so proud of how powerful she’s become.” Stolas wrapped his arm around his daughter, “Even if her mother isn’t involved, I’m just happy that she’s happy.”

“I’m so glad to hear that. And I’m sorry that your marriage never worked out, sweetie. Your father told me it’s been so hard on you.”

“It’s alright, mother. I knew from the start it wasn’t gonna go well anyway but the one good thing is that I have a lovely young girl to raise.”

Selene was happy that her son was doing well but noticed that her husband looked a little remorseful.

“Paimon? What is the matter?” She asked in concern.

“It’s my fault that Stolas had to be trapped in an awful marriage was such a horrid woman.” Paimon said in regret, “If only I had an arranged such a terrible marriage…”

Feeling sorry for her husband, Selene took her hand in place on top of his before giving it a gentle squeeze.

“Don’t blame yourself, my love. It couldn’t be helped. Although I wasn’t able to stop the marriage, I did look into the future and saw how there was a bright light at the end of it. No matter how tough things may seem, our family will always pull through.”

“He’s right, father.” Vassago patted his shoulder, “You can’t hate yourself for this. It was an inevitable decision but Stolas managed to pull through and Octavia is becoming a lovely young woman. So in a way, things did work out.”

“I suppose.” Paimon sighed a bit as Stolas wrapped his arm around his father.

“I’ve already forgiven you, father.” he said honestly, “You just need to forgive yourself now.”

Paimon felt better that his family was giving him comfort and was glad to be forgiven.

They spent a few hours talking with Selene before it was time to depart. They promised that they will try and stay in touch, but she said she will watch over them.

“I hope to see all of you again soon.” She said with one last loving smile.

“Me too, grandmother.” Octavia did the same, “I can’t wait to show you some more of my magic the next time we visit.”

“I would love that, dear.”

“We love you, mother.” Stolas hugged her along with Octavia and his brother.

“We promise to stay in touch, mama.” Vassgo added.

“And I will continue to watch over you all.” She held them close, “Always.”

“Take care, darling.” Paimon held her hands.

“Until we meet again, my love.”

They shared one more kiss before Paimon open the portal for them to go back home.
It was hard to say goodbye, but they were happy to see Selene once again.
And she will always be there whenever they need her.
