Hello everyone,
It’s me, the author.
A lot has happened lately. I’ve been focused on finding a job, and in between interviews and emotional gut punches, I realized something important: the story started to derail around chapter 17 and I knew it, I felt it.
I could have stopped it or redirected it around chapter 21 or even chapter 30, but I didn’t. I didn’t pause to properly plan the arc the way I had planned the ending of chapter 17 and because of that, the story kept escalating in ways that no longer felt aligned with what I wanted to explore.
So I’m considering something new.
I’m thinking of writing a parallel second season, branching from chapter 17. In this version, events unfold differently. For example, Camille stays with Ari and Lyra, and the focus shifts toward everyday life, intimacy, and character dynamics rather than escalating into riots, violence, and large scale conflict like in the current version.
I wanted to share this openly and ask: what do you think?
Lastly, I need to be honest with you. I’m overwhelmed. I’ll be taking a short break and continuing after the New Year. I need to get my footing again. I don’t want to burn through my savings, and I need to secure a stable main source of income before I can return to writing with the focus and care this story deserves.
