Notes:

hi all! feel free to send in some prompts or requests! :)

Work Text:

mack is curled up in bed, blankets tangled around his legs, hair a soft mess against the pillow. he’s already showered, already in one of will’s oversized shirt that falls off one shoulder, and his eyes are heavy with the kind of tired that isn’t about sleep.

will’s still at the dresser, folding a t shirt with slow, careful hands, but he glances over when he feels eyes on him.

mack is watching him.

not saying anything. just watching. and then, his fingers reach out from under the blanket making grabby hands.

will smiles. “you need something, baby?”

mack doesn’t answer, just wiggles his fingers again, palms up now. it’s so quiet, but the look in his eyes says everything.

come here.

will doesn’t waste a second. he tosses the shirt aside and crosses the room in a few steps, climbing onto the bed without thinking twice. mack’s hands immediately find him, pulling him in, pulling him close.

will leans over him and kisses his forehead, then the tip of his nose, then finally his lips. “hey, baby.”

mack sighs into the kiss like he’s been waiting all day for it. like it’s the one thing that makes his chest loosen and his shoulders drop. it’s soft, lazy, and sweet- mack’s hands resting on will’s sides, fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt.

“missed you,” mack whispers.

“i was only across the room,” will teases gently, brushing their noses together.

mack doesn’t laugh, just hums and pulls him in for another kiss. deeper this time. needier. will lets it happen, lets himself melt into it, one hand sliding into mack’s hair while the other rests on his hip under the blanket.

they kiss like they’re trying to stop time. no urgency. no rush. just mouths meeting, parting, meeting again. soft sounds between them. mack sighing. will whispering i’ve got you against his lips.

“you okay?” will murmurs after a moment, brushing his thumb along mack’s cheek.

mack nods. “just wanted you close.”

mack wraps his arms around will’s torso and tugs at him until he gets the full weight of him, chest to chest, legs tangled, their hearts pressed close. will holds him tight, like he’s trying to shield him from the world.

they lie there for a while. not talking. just breathing together. every time mack shifts, will adjusts with him, an arm under his neck, a hand rubbing small circles into his back, a kiss to his hair every now and then.

“you’re clingy tonight,” will whispers, not teasing. just noticing.

mack buries his face in will’s neck. “don’t care.”

will smiles into his hair. “good. i like it when you want me close.”

“feels better when you hold me,” mack says softly. “like my chest isn’t so heavy.”

that makes will squeeze him tighter, wrapping both arms around him like he’s afraid he might slip away. “then i’m not letting go.”

mack relaxes more, body sinking fully into will’s hold. his legs tuck around will’s hips, and his fingers trace slow lines up and down his spine, almost absentminded. like he wants to keep touching, just to make sure he’s real.

“you always make me feel safe and calm,” mack murmurs after a long pause.

“because you are,” will says. “with me, you’re always safe.”

mack pulls back just enough to look at him. his eyes are soft, almost watery, like the tenderness is too much to hold all at once.

will leans in and kisses him again. slow and sure and full of love.

mack kisses back like he means it. like he’s giving something of himself with every pass of his lips. when they part, he stays close, his forehead resting against will’s.

“you know i love you, right?” mack whispers.

will nod. “i know. i love you too. so much.”

they stay like that, curled into each other, wrapped in quiet and warmth and everything unspoken that lives between their hearts. will kisses him again, softer this time, then tugs the blanket up around them both.

mack lets out a little content sigh, already drifting, the kind of sleepy that only comes when you’re safe in someone’s arms.

will watches him for a moment, brushing his fingers through his curls, memorizing every line of his face.

“you’re everything, baby,” he whispers into the dark.

mack doesn’t answer, he’s half asleep now, mouth parted slightly, breath warm against will’s throat.

will just holds him closer.

and outside, the sun sets.
