It was 1971. Tom walked into his first year Gryffindor Defense Against the Dark Arts class. “Good morning, first years. Welcome to Hogwarts-..” Tom paused for a moment to look through the crowd. He spotted a young mud-muggleborn in the little group of Gryffindor girls.
He saw the ever familiar eyes. “I am your Defense Against the Dark Arts professor-“ he couldn’t stop glancing at the young ginger mu-muggleborn. “Young Lady, if you would, what is your name?” The muggleborn girl looked at him with those ever familiar eyes, and spoke. “Lily, sir. My name is Lily Evans.”
Tom’s eye twitched. So that’s how it was? His darling Hadrian had left, and had a family with a muggle lady?
Tom smiled, a smile he’d perfected years ago gracing his face with ease. “A pleasure, miss Evans.”
He’d find Hadrian. He knew he would. He’d do all the things Hadrian told him not to, forced and bartered with him to leave alone. He would do it. He’d become the Voldemort he said he’d leave behind in the echoed halls of Hogwarts if it meant he’d be able to draw Hadrian out of his hiding spot in the muggle world.
Hadrian wouldn’t get away again.
