Summary
Klaus doesn't particularly care for the smart mouth or exaggerated gesticulating the new postman exhibits on their nightly trips, and makes his displeasure known through silence. You'd think the postman would learn, would figure out that Klaus has no desire to have a conversation with a spoiled man-child at midnight. But Jesper doesn't, and Klaus refuses to waste his words on the young man to explain that he's not looking to connect with anyone on any level after...after her.
But when Jesper comes out of a house one night with burnt hands and bloody footsteps, barely batting an eye, Klaus realizes there is much more to Jesper's story than meets the eye. Swallowing his pride, Klaus tries his best to learn more, as uneasy concern begins to grow for this Russian-doll of a young man. But is it too little, too late? After all, Klaus isn't the only one good at the silent treatment, and Jesper knows, too, that all relationships come at a cost.
