Summary
They get married over fourth of July weekend. Bittle wanted to get married exactly a year after Jack had proposed, but Jack had enough designs on winning the Stanley Cup again to nix both that and the anniversary of their televised kiss. Bittle suggests the fourth of July in Madison and waggles his eyebrows in a way that waggles right past sexy and into silly. Jack kisses him on the forehead and agrees. It’s the third of July, actually, with how the days shake out.
Bittle gives him a tight smile when he sees Kent’s name on the guest list. "Are you sure, honey?"
"I need him to be there," Jack says. Bittle frowns but doesn’t argue. He gets Kent’s address from Alicia’s Christmas card list, and his mother’s, just to be safe. He realizes, embarrassed, that he doesn’t know if Kent lives in Vegas in the off season.
Two weeks after the invitations go out he unblocks Kent’s number and types out I need you to be there. Deletes it.
We’d love to have you :). Stupid.
I miss you. Impossible.
