I Will Guard This Post Forever
The teams that went out to fight the enemy coming towards the gate at the top of a mountain wouldn’t be coming back again. As was said over the mics as the prepared to blow the area around the gate to keep the enemy away from their Homeworld, they would become “Soldiers of Heaven.”
That was the last heard as the Alpine slope went up with all hands taking the enemy with them. Joining those others who became immortal on the stairway to heaven.
Leaving those left behind to mourn them as the command staff wrote out the regrets that the loved ones were lost to their families and could not be returned to them.
They all knew those soldiers would guard their posts forever as soldiers of heaven.
