Work Text:

Victor brushes his fingers through the Creature‘s hair, now soft and silky from the regular baths, before taking the brush again. It used to be one of Elisabeth‘s but she insisted on giving it to the Creature. Brushing his hair is somewhat of a difficult task with the mixture of textures, some strands beeing perfectly straight while others are more wavey or almost curly, and no matter how often William or Victor suggests getting his hair cut in a more manly style, the Creature refuses.

Now it is sitting cross-legged on the floor, dressed in one of Victor’s hastily altered shirts. In his lap the Creature holds a intricatly carved wooden box filled with various ribbons, pins and other ornaments for his hair, some borrowed or gifted from Elisabeth and some that Victor has been convinced to buy. He sticks the tip of his tongue out in concentration as he rumages through the box. After a while he pulls out a red silk ribbon, dangeling it in front of his face to admire the way the color changes depending on the angle of the fabric. He turns his head towards Victor. „Look, creator… isn‘t it beautifull?“

Victor let‘s out a unspecified grumble, clearly not particularly interested in textiles. Instead his gaze is focused on how the Creature‘s hair still grows with different densities and in various colours and textures as he brushes out the last knots.

Suddenly the Creature stands up, setting its box down on the nearest table and turning around to surveil the entire messy bedroom. „There should be a second one… creator, where is it?“

„How should I know? Isn‘t one enough?“ Victor continues to grumble but still cranes his neck to take a look around the room. Eventually his gaze lands on a speck of red on the very top of one of the high shelves. „Isn‘t that your ribbon?“

A pout forms on the creatures face and it crosses its arms in front of its chest. „And that‘s why you shouldn‘t constantly throw things around when searching for your stuff…“ It grumbels as it stomps towards the shelf, standing on it‘s tip toes to fish the ribbon from the top shelf.

„I will let you know, that I did not put it there on purpose.“ Victor mumbels when his Creature plops down in front of him again, leaning back and looking up expectantly. „What do you want me to do now?“

„I want braids. Please.“ The Creature smiles and starts to hum some sort of song as Victor starts to part his hair.
