Summary
Stolas is trying to come to terms with his new condition, but the one loss he cannot accept is being cut off from his daughter, Octavia. When she finally contacts him after months of silence, on the day of her birthday, something unthinkable has already happened. Andrealphus, exploiting the anger Octavia feels toward her father, has manipulated her into giving up her powers.
