Work Header

Tell yourself there's no more need to lie.

Summary:

Vox obsessed. That’s what he did.
He didn’t do things halfway, he never had.
And now there was a new thing for him to obsess over.
Lucifer.
He knows it’s not normal, and is kind of insane. And he’s aware that it’s absurd that he’s obsessing over Lucifer while still attempting to not deal with his actual feelings for him.
Being aware that something’s absurd doesn’t make it any easier to understand however.
What he did not do though, was emotions.

//We had to address the wedding ring in the room at some point.
Communication!! Oh, and wing preening. That too.

Notes:

This is was supposed to be shorter than it ended up being but you know what fuck it we ball. Did I mention this was supposed to be a radiostatic ONESHOT? Now we're 50k words in and I’m starting to get way too into staticapple. Damn.
I also can’t believe it’s been THREE MONTHS since I started this series! Four if you count how long it took me to write the first one! Insane. Time is scary guys.
Vox slowly allowing himself to give in to his obsessive tendencies and resisting it not because he doesn’t want to be obsessive and unhealthy but because he doesn’t want to feel. Very healthy Vox, how’s that going for you bud?
Also! Happy Valentine's guys! What timing on my part huh? This was totally planned and NOT me fighting burnout tooth and nail for the last two weeks! < (He lies)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Vox knew that he was in too deep. He’d fallen in love with Lucifer despite himself. Like a fucking idiot.

He knew his somewhat obsessive habits were… bad. He’d practically stalked Alastor for seventy years because he was obsessing. He knew that wasn’t normal. Or healthy. But it was the way that he was, and he wasn’t exactly in the market for changing as a person. So that’s how he showed affection! What of it?

And of course, now he had another person to be completely normal about.

And that’s why he had taken the day off to research everything possible about any of Lucifer’s physical features to put together a general idea of his physiology.

Okay that part might not all be about Lucifer and more about the fact that he got a little too interested in Biology and when he started researching something he would learn everything he could about it.

That was caused by a whole other mental problem though and was not the point. The fact that he read an entire scientific textbook on worms for fun when he was a teenager had nothing to do with his obsessive attachment tendencies.

Or maybe it did actually- he didn’t know, he certainly wasn’t a fucking phycologist

But all that was to say that after a few hours Vox knew all the internet had to tell him about hellborns with prehensile tails and sinners with wings because that was as close as he could get on that front.

Turns out their tails actually aren’t vertebrae after the first few past the tailbone! Their structure is more like… a big fucked up finger with way too many joints. Fascinating! Something he probably could have guessed considering thats how fucking tails work.

It didn’t stop him from conjuring the horrific image of a hand with creepy long fingers with a dozen knuckles.

Lovely. Isn’t that fun?

He had forgotten how tails work. Maybe he should kill himself.

Not important.

Thanks to the fact that he was still part machine, he could essentially download information instead of just reading it, so learning all this was actually pretty fast.

That being said, he ended up in Alastor’s room significantly earlier than he usually did.

And apparently surprised Lucifer with that.

“What’s…” Vox trailed off at the sight in front of him.

Lucifer’s wings were sprawled out behind him where he sat on the floor, red and white feathers scattered across the floor as he carded a hand through one of his lower wings. Well would you look at that timing.

All this?” He asked, tilting his head.

Lucifer startled, feathers literally ruffling in a way Vox hated to admit he found cute. He was earlier than he usually was, but even then he usually ended up in Alastor’s room first with Alastor and Lucifer working at the hotel. “Oh! Uh, Vox. Hello.” He said, face flushing gold.

“Hello?” He asked with a bit of a laugh.

“You’re- done with work early.” Lucifer said, brushing the feathers on the floor into a pile with his tail. “What uh, happened?” He said, seemingly embarrassed. If he was embarrassed about this, why do it in what was basically a common area? That’s what Alastor’s room had become at this point really.

“I mean I’m done with work whenever I want to be Lu.” He postured. “I got bored.” He admitted with a smile. “Need some help there?” He asked, leaning over where Lucifer sat on the floor somewhat condescendingly.

Lucifer looked up at him, eyes wide. “I uh, I couldn’t ask that- I ha! Uh-” Vox tilted his head.

It’s clear he was struggling to reach the back of his wings.

“Are you sure?” He teased. “Cause’ it looks to me that you do- but what do I know right?” He grinned,

Lucifer fidgeted. “It’s ha!” He sighed. “It’s very…” Vox watched him set his jaw, thinking. “Yeah. Sure. That would uh, be nice.” He said with a slight smile, offering Vox the spray bottle that sat beside him. “Just uh- be… it’s a very- haha! Wings are- I wouldn’t- Just be careful.” He practically pleaded.

“Got it. Careful.” He said with a grin, taking the bottle and moving to sit behind him. “So, where’s Alastor?” He regretted the question instantly when he saw Lucifer flinch. “Not that I need him around to spend time with you! Just wondering since, you know- this is still technically his room.” He said, aiming for damage control as he sprayed his hands with water to dampen them.

“I’m not actually sure.” Lucifer admitted. “I… think he went to speak to Roxxie?” He told him as Vox gently straightened a few feathers.

Vox hummed. “Roise?” He clarified.

“Yes!”

That… Did that make sense? Roise was the one who owned his soul to begin with wasn’t she? They had always seemed close, if that was despite the soul contract or because of it he couldn’t say.

What would they have to talk about?

They were quiet as Vox worked carefully on his wings, gently pinching at the base of loose feathers to tug them out and straightening skewed ones. Lucifer’s tail had wrapped around his leg at some point.

It was actually a comfortable quiet shockingly enough, only broken up by the occasional little chirp from Lucifer when he got closer to the actual joints of his wings, touching the softer feathers there.

He did actually know what he was doing believe it or not. He actually did a bit of research on winged sinners over the last week, just to cover all his bases.

Okay it may have actually been today. After last night. That may have been what he was doing instead of work. Because he’d accepted he was into Lucifer. And started obsessing.

Because that was what he did. He obsessed.

Vox focused on the larger feathers on the outer parts of Lucifer’s wings. He knew that the softer feathers closer to the actual joints of the wings were more sensitive so he was saving those till he had finished with the rest- partly so he could get through all six wings without either of them getting distracted.

He knew that they were sensitive, but Lucifer didn’t need to know that he knew that. With how vague Lucifer had been Vox could guess he might not want him to know that. He seemed… embarrassed. Truly he was too easy to fluster, Vox would say maybe even easier than he was.

But he did know that.

And unless Lucifer had a problem with it he planned to have at least a bit of fun with that.

Vox carefully ran a hand over the shoulder joints of one of the wings, wondering how the shoulders worked with this many wings.

Lucifer let out a slightly louder chirp when he brushed over some of the more downy feathers near his spine.

Vox chuckled a little at that. A cute noise for the king of hell to make- but he was careful to pull back from the sensitive area to avoid distraction

Curious aren’t you?” Lucifer chirped when he noticed Vox trying to map out the bones of his wings.

“Yeah uh,” He could be a bit more vulnerable, this was vulnerable for Lucifer after all. “When I was little I wanted to be a biologist.” He admitted, running his hand through the feathers of Lucifer’s wing. “I mean, it didn’t work out because it was the time that it was and I was- you know.” He said. He actually didn’t know if Lucifer really knew about why that wouldn’t have worked out for him, it’d only been brought up vaguely a few times. It wasn’t that he cared if Lucifer knew, he just didn’t like talking about it- it was one of those things that always got weird to talk about, and he wasn’t really used to talking about it either considering it wasn’t exactly something he wanted to get out.

But Lucifer nodded. “Marine biology?” He asked. Vox smiled, gently scratching his feathers.

“That’s what got me into it.” He agreed. “But it’s all interesting to me, always has been, ended up in astrophysics.”

“Really?” Lucifer asked. “Never would have taken you for the science type before.” He commented as Vox wiped the dirt from his claws.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” He asked teasingly. “Just because I’m a charming star I can’t have my own hobbies?”

Lucifer laughed gently. “No, I just would have thought you’d be more on- yknow’ the electrical engineering side if I were to guess.”

Vox scoffed playfully. “Well now that’s just profiling.” He insisted, even though he was right, that was actually a newer development.

“You run a tech company!” Lucifer defended.

“Details, details.” Vox insisted. As he worked, Vox separated the shed feathers into piles by color, not something he really noticed himself doing but he did it nonetheless. “I’ll have you know I am a man of many talents.”

“I’m sure.” He teased.

Vox noticed Lucifer fidgeting with his ring as he moved on to his fourth wing, the last one he could get to on his back before they’d have to improvise for the middle ones. Lucifer was spinning it on his finger with a bit of a sad look.

“You uh…” It still got a bit weird, talking to him without Alastor as a buffer. “You… okay?” He asked. Lucifer’s wing twitched under his hand at the question.

“Oh, yeah… fine…” He said. “Just… this is the first time I’ve had someone else do this since… you know.” His voice was quiet. “Lilly used to always do this for me before… before she left.” He admitted. Vox just nodded. “She left.” He repeated, seeming to be talking more to himself than to Vox.

“Can I… why do you still wear your ring?” Vox asked, running his claws along the backs of the larger feathers. It was something he’d wondered since he noticed it.

Lucifer froze. “I- I don’t know.” He admitted. “Some way of… holding on I guess. I mean, I’ve been wearing it for… thousands of years now.” He said, hesitating. “It’s not like… I mean, I’m happy right now- wi-with you- and Alastor. But I think part of me is still holding on to her. Some… delusional hope that she’ll come back.” He laughed sadly. “To me. To Charlie. I… But I don’t even know what I’d do if she did honestly.” He admitted.

Vox nodded. “I… I know what that’s like.” He sighed. Part of him hated talking about Alastor like that, but he had left him. He did. No matter how he may try to twist it. Even if he did come back.

Everything he did, he still did it. He might be trying to fix it- if that’s what he was doing- but he still did what he did. They can’t change the past. Any of their pasts.

He tried to ignore the pain Alastor had caused him, but it was still there. Festering beneath the surface.

Lucifer just sniffled a little as Vox readjusted a feather. “But he came back for you.” He said, voice cracking. “She’s… She’s not coming back.” He said, shaking his head. There was a sad realization in the words, like it was the first time he’d said them out loud. Like he was accepting it for the first time.

“I’m… sorry.” Vox said, words foreign in his mouth. He was trying new things. He trailed over the top of the wing he’d been working on, cradling it gently in his hands. “She has no idea what she left behind.” He told him. He wasn’t used to this, but… it wasn’t bad. “And now, you have Al and I, so even if she figures out what she left behind she’s not getting you back. You’re stuck with us forever now.” He said with a grin.

Lucifer let out a weak laugh. Not quite something happy but it was better than the spiral he’d been going down.

They were quiet for a moment while Vox finished up the bigger feathers of this last wing.

“I mean, I’d be one thing if she just left me, you know? But she left Charlie too.” He said quietly. “I get why she left me, she had- fuck- she had so many reasons to leave me.” He said, voice cracking again as he wiped the tears from his eyes. “But I can’t even really be mad at her for that can I? I mean, I left her too.” He put his head in his hands. And we’re backsliding.

Vox shifted so he was able to look at him. “You came back for her though.” He said gently, carefully tugging Lucifer’s hands from his face so he could look at him. He was kind of shit at all this emotions stuff but he could try! He… wanted to try. Okay, nope, deal with that later. “I can see how much you care about her Lu.” He let his voice fall into something softer than he would usually allow. “You came back when she needed you. That matters.” He told him. “That matters.” He insisted.

“Yeah,” He scoffed. “After disappearing for nearly decades. But I came back.” He looked away, gritting his teeth.

Lilith didn’t. Vox stopped himself from adding, he wasn’t sure if placing extra blame on Lilith would be helpful here. He wanted to put her down to try to bring Lucifer up- because that’s how he usually did things, be better than someone else and make himself feel better by putting others down. But it was clear that Lucifer still cared about Lilith in some capacity. No matter how much Vox hated that.

Why… Why did he hate that? Of course he cared about Lilith, hell- Vox had used that against him! So why did that leave a bitter taste in his mouth to recognise?

He added a small feather to the white pile.

He was jealous. It was that. Why the fuck was he jealous? Jealous of Lucifer’s absent wife. Great job. Fucking hell man. That was so fucking stupid.

Vox squeezed his hands once before letting go to move to his inner left wing. “By your own logic, coming back is important.” He said, pushing through his own emotions to deal with Lucifer. “You have to apply that to yourself, double standards Lucifer.” He chastised gently, tapping his wing playfully.

Lucifer shook his head. “That’s not-”

“Nope.” Vox stopped him. “Nah-uh, You came back for her. That matters.” The way he said it was dismissive, but he really was trying to help.

This still wasn’t his thing. Really. He was in no way qualified to deal with this.

He added another feather to the red pile.

Fine.” Lucifer said, clearly not convinced, but letting it go. Vox would let it go too. He wasn’t at all qualified or in the mood to handle this. And never would be, for the record.

Still, there was a far too genuine and unwelcome tightening in his chest at the tears he saw Lucifer brush away, not missing the way his wedding ring caught the light as he did- and that was a whole other feeling he really didn’t enjoy.

He soothed his hand over the large feathers of his wing, shielding his screen from Lucifer’s view.

He really needed to stop… stop something. Whatever he was doing. Feeling? That. Stop… doing that.

Or he could deal with it. That’s the mature thing to do.

So he’d probably do… not that.

When he went to move over to the last remaining wing, but was stopped by Lucifer’s tail still around his leg.

“Oh,” Lucifer cleared his throat. “Sorry.” He unwrapped his tail from Vox’s leg.

Vox smiled a little. “It’s cute.” He tapped Lucifer on what he was pretty sure classified as his nose, watching him blush.

“Shut up V.” Lucifer huffed, turning away from Vox so he could look at the inner wing Vox had been working on. “You’re… actually quite good at this.” Lucifer said, the wing.

“Well I do like to think I’m quite good with my hands.” Vox said with an exaggerated wink, pretending he wasn’t inwardly rejoicing at the praise.

Lucifer scoffed a laugh. “I’m not going to say you’re wrong but also, shut up.” He said through a laugh.

“I’m simply glad you find my work satisfactory your majesty.” Vox teased, taking note of how Lucifer’s wing twitched.

“You- really need to stop calling me that.” He said, looking away.

“Do I?” Vox asked, aligning a skewed feather. “Because you practically start glowing when I do.” He teased.

Lucifer just sighed, but it was still somewhat fond, a slight chuckle hidden beneath it.

Vox focused on Lucifer’s wing to try to avoid thinking about how much he enjoyed hearing that gentle joy from him, dragging his claws through his feathers carefully.

This seemed so… domestic. Gentle.

And he liked it.

For some reason, he liked it.

Whatever.

He’s normal about that.

Okay,” Vox said. “Is that all good?” He asked, pulling away.

He inwardly cringed at how softly he asked, and the fact that he actually cared

Lucifer examined the wing. “The uh, for the most part.” He said. “Just the ones on my back left.” He said. “But you- I know you were avoiding them probably uh, for a reason.” Lucifer tapped on his knee, alternating between his fingers. “Cause’ uh- Alastor’s not here and-” Vox surged forward, dragging Lucifer into a kiss by his neck to shut him up, breathless and passionate as he rested his hands on the soft skin of Lucifer’s chest, barely stopping himself from placing his weight on the king’s small frame.

“I was avoiding them because I wanted to be able to focus.” He breathed against Lucifer’s mouth, before kissing him again. “I said I would preen your wings, so I did that. Now however…” He told him, leaning back with a grin.

Lucifer tilted his head at him. “I-” Somehow his already always wide eyes were wider than ever, face glowing gold.

Vox froze for a moment. Oh shit. “I read this wrong didn’t I?” He asked, completely pulling away. Shit, shit, shit, shit- “I- damnit, you know what? Don’t say anything, I’m just gonna go and we never have to talk about this ever again.” He said, wiping his hands on his pants. His chest still tightened in something akin to panic despite his projected indifference.

He’d royally fucked this up- literally, as if now were the time for overly appropriate empahsas words. He’s so fucked. Fuck. Now things were gonna be awkward- and that’s best case scenario. If he didn’t permanently fuck this whole thing up forever.

Lucifer wrapped his tail around Vox’s wrist as he tried to pull away. “Vox.” He growled, red flashing in his eyes. That’s hot- no bad timing. “Would you stop being stupid for one second? There’s only enough room for one of us to be as stupid as we are, I think Alastor would say something like that.” He sighed, shaking his head.
“The two of us have been running circles around each other too scared to do anything but while we’re being honest I’m tired of it.” He tugged on his wrist. “I want this, you clearly want this and I think it’s pretty simple.” He hissed. “Now unless there’s a problem here, I’d like you to finish up my wings and we’ll see what happens then, is that clear?” Despite his almost predatory smile, Vox could see the faux confidence he was hiding behind, it was easy to see when he was doing the same.

However that didn’t make the way he told him what to do and the show of power any less hot. Didn’t mean that there wasn’t a flare of heat beneath Vox’s skin.

That alongside the memory of last night certainly made for some interesting feelings.

Mostly horny. A lot of that. Still entangled with the resigual panic of worrying that he’d fucked up big time but still, a lot of horny. Saving that for later.

He’d never particularly been into being ordered around before- but he wasn’t going to look too closely at when or why that had changed.

Vox’s eyes flitted to the tightly wrapped tail around his wrist, trailing a claw over it gently. “Yes sir.” He said through the lump in his throat. He knew what he wanted, it was new but certainly not unwelcome. Even if Lucifer clearly wasn’t used to it. “Bed?” He asked, pointing awkwardly.

Vox could practically feel the way they both radiated overly false confidence but he wasn’t going to point it out if Lucifer wasn’t.

“Uh, yeah. Yeah.” He nodded, not letting go of Vox’s arm as he stood.

The once comfortable silence had turned tense, both of them seemingly just waiting for the moment to shatter and everything to collapse around them. Without Alastor as a buffer they were really both scrambling messes.

Vox could see it in Lucifer’s movements because he knew it all too well.

Usually, he’d slip back into his usual persona, part of his mind screaming at him to take control of the situation and stop being an emotional idiot. But that just… didn’t seem right for the moment. He could pretend all he liked, he still was afraid to ruin this.

“Now, feathers.” Lucifer demanded as he sat on the edge of the bed. He didn’t actually mind letting Lucifer take control here. Weird.

“If you insist.” He teased. He could do that much.

He went to kneel behind Lucifer on the bed, putting his hand over Lucifer’s back and resting it there gently.

He was careful as he dragged his hand through the soft feathers that lined it, humming when Lucifer leaned back into his hand.

The feathers on his back were indescribably soft in a way that shouldn’t be possible, shed feathers sticking to his still damp hands as he pet down his back.

Lucifer practically melted under his touch, gentle sounds escaping him as Vox worked.

Something about making Lucifer melt so softly in his hands was calming in a way. Leaning back against Vox like he was the only thing keeping him together.

“So eager to follow orders aren’t you?” Lucifer noted shakily, Vox could basically see the ideas floating around his head when he said it.

Maybe.” He admitted. He wasn’t usually actually, but he somehow found it less embarrassing to just agree than admit that he was only like this for him and Alastor.

He ran his hand down the feathers that lined his spine, watching Lucifer shiver beneath him with a shuttering breath. “Is that good?” He purred, voice low as he pet down the soft feathers again.

Where Lucifer had once melted he went rigid against Vox’s touch, already twitching in his hands and only responding with a shaky moan that sent heat rushing through Vox’s body.

“Pretty noises Lu.” He teased, his voice coming out filtered while he scratched through soft feathers.

Vox.” He whined.

“Yeah?” He asked.

Lucifer only whined.

“I knew wings were sensitive but this.” He prodded, trailing his hands gently over his wings. “If I thought you were easy to rile up before-” He grinned, pushing his thumbs against the joints of his top wings, earning him a tea kettle whine in response. His own breath was ragged on hearing that, the sound was enough to have him worked up all on it’s own.

Vox hummed, partly to conceal the gasp he couldn’t bite down. “You should really see yourself sunshine, all worked up from me just preening your wings.” He cooed, trying out the fitting nickname. “Fucking adorable really.”

“I- I’m not cute.” Lucifer hissed with no real bite behind the words.

Cute was your word, not mine.” Vox countered, petting down his soft feathers. “I said adorable. Which you are.”

“Vox I swear-” Lucifer was cut off by a sharp breath when Vox pet down his spine again.

“What?” Vox teased. “Were you saying something?” He purred, fanning his hands out through his feathers and leaning over him to look at him properly.

Lucifer retaliated by smacking him with his tail. Fair enough.

“Shame I can’t really reach to touch you like this.” He noted, burying his hands into Lucifer’s feathers and leaning in next to his ear, his hair brushing his screen softly. “You’ll have to do that yourself, but you can do that can’t you Lu?” He felt Lucifer’s feathers ruffle beneath his hands, pointed ear twitching when his breath hit it.

“Hah- ha- yeah.” Lucifer breathed, letting out a gentle squeak when Vox ran his tongue along the back of his neck, leaving a buzzing trail where he touched. “Oh- oh boy- ah-”

“And you say you’re not cute.” Vox muttered against his skin, gently nipping at it.

Fuck.” Lucifer’s fingers twitched where he gripped his pants, hands resting on already trembling thighs.

“Oh Lucifer, go on.” He encouraged, watching Lucifer shutter at his breath against sensitive skin. “No need to stop yourself, let me see you won’t you?” He cooed, tracing gentle circles into the delicate feathers of Lucifer’s back as he licked at his neck again.

“That-” He huffed a breathy laugh that ended in a slight whine. “Your tongue tingles.” He said breathlessly, slowly trailing his hands up his thighs.

“Mhm.” Vox agreed, watching his movements closely as he slipped a hand into his pants, listening to him take a shaky gasp at the touch. “Let me see you sunshine.” Vox whispered, focusing on the feeling of Lucifer’s feathers beneath his fingers to distract from how his own blood boiled beneath his skin.

His eyes were drawn to where slick beaded on his golden flushed tip as Lucifer carefully pulled himself from his pants. He wished he could lick it clean, but instead he mouthed at Lucifer’s neck since the position wouldn’t allow that, moaning against his skin at the sight of Lucifer’s gentle movements and soft moans as he stroked himself.

“You’re so fucking pretty.” Vox said, voice low and rough. He could feel his own dick twitch in his pants as he nipped at Lucifer’s skin. Fuck he was so hard. He gently rolled his hips down on the bed mindlessly for some slight relief, breathing shakily as he continued to trace those soft shapes into Lucifer’s soft feathers.

Oh-” Lucifer threw his head back, hitting Vox’s screen in the process when Vox grazed over the joint of his wing. Fuck. Vox carefully did it again, repeating it on the other side too and getting the same reaction as Lucifer’s gentle sounds evolved to outright moans.

So sensitive." Vox grinned as he drew more noises from the king, pulling the skin of Lucifer’s neck into his mouth ever so gently.

Keep doing that.” Lucifer huffed.

“How could I stop when you sound like that?” Vox asked rhetorically, returning to Lucifer’s neck to pull another squeak from him.

Even without Lucifer actually touching him, Vox’s body felt like a live wire, all his muscles drawn tense at just his noises and watching him get off.

Was that sad? No, no, that’s actually extremely understandable, Lucifer wasn’t the original temptation for nothing. Anyone would be desperately horny when presented with such a sight, regardless of their emotional connection to the king.

Yeah he was still trying to deny that. Failing horribly but he can try his best.

“I am- so fucking hard right now.” Vox admitted, earning a huffed laugh from Lucifer.

“Th…anks?” Lucifer responded, a lovely shaky breath falling from his lips. “Shit.Fuck Vox was going to lose his damn mind.Mmh- ah!” Lucifer cried, wings flaring as he came.

Vox was careful not to stop his gentle massaging of the base of his wings as Lucifer went limp in his arms, falling back against him.

“Well that was quite the show my king.” Vox purred. A few ideas coming to mind about how they could include Alastor in this little endeavor next time Lucifer needed to preen his wings. With how sensitive they were there was no way Vox would be letting this go. Not after the chirping moans he’d been treated too.

“I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.” Lucifer said, voice a bit scratchy as he waved away the mess, turning in Vox’s arms and placed his hands on the sides of his chest. “And you’re lucky you’re good at that.” He told him, pushing Vox back with surprising force to kiss him.

It was not at all comfortable being pinned to the bed like this with his legs under him, but he endured for a moment to indulge in the kiss before having to pull away to re-adjust. “Let me-” He huffed, shifting so he was sitting more properly, not that it lasted long when Lucifer pushed him back down to kiss him again.

Despite the aggressive way Lucifer maneuvered him, the kiss itself was somewhat gentle- heated yes- but it was also almost tender in a way Vox could lose himself in.

It was kind. That’s what it was. And he accepted that kindness in a way he hadn’t in a long time.

When Lucifer pulled back, he was breathless, leaving his taste lingering on Vox’s tongue even once he was gone, pulling away and slipping off the bed to kneel in front of Vox.

Shit.” Vox muttered. Lucifer said nothing as he dragged his hands across Vox’s thighs, looking determined in an almost worrying way.

He didn’t take his eyes off of Vox as he pushed his shirt up to nip at Vox’s hips teasingly even as his shoulder rested ever so gently against Vox’s ignored erection. He was going to kill himself damnit.

Lucifer.” He whined far too desperately. “Come on.” He insisted. Mercifully, Lucifer didn’t tease longer, moving to unbutton his pants in all his benevolence.

Lucifer carefully ran his hand up his length once he was tugged loose, his touch gentle enough to drive Vox crazy- crazier than he already was. Carefully brushing his thumb over his leaking tip to spread the precome over him before gently- so gently- running his tongue up it with a far too smug smile as he carefully guided Vox’s hand to his hair with his free hand as he mouthed gently at his cock.

Vox seized the opportunity, grasping at his hair enough to tug slightly, watching Lucifer’s wings puff out before letting go again to just rest his hand in his hair. “You like that?” He asked, voice low and filtered.

Lucifer’s hum of affirmation vibrated through his body, drawing a low groan from him, and another slight chuckle from Lucifer did the same.

“Come on,” He repeated, tugging Lucifer’s hair ever so gently to guide him.

“So impatient, a mortal flaw I tell you.” Lucifer chastised, breath sensitive against wet skin.

Still, he carefully swirled that deft tongue over his tip, careful and exacting.

“Holy fuck yeah,” Vox huffed as Lucifer slowly worked him into his mouth.

The way Lucifer used his mouth was- it felt heavenly was the best way to describe it.

That was probably some kind of blasphemy though wasn’t it? At least somewhat.

Who was he kidding, he was a cult leader- no, it wasn’t a cult- who claimed godhood, it was probably a little late to be worried about blasphemy.

Fuck Lu, you’re fucking- holy s-ss-” He huffed out, grasping for words as he glitched.

Lucifer pulled back only for a moment, “Oh trust me V,” He said, voice rough. “I’m far from holy.” He said with a grin before taking Vox back into his mouth smoothly.

Fuck!” He cried, he’d been way too worked up by all this. “Fuck, you look so f-fucking good like this, yo-u-u’re too good at th-this,” He glitched through rambling as Lucifer worked his tounge around him. “Fucking st-t-tunning, taking me so well- fuck- Luce, I’m so fucking- oh you’re so-” He couldn’t find proper words no matter how hard he tried, not with Lucifer so fucking warm and wet around him, the static in his head overtaking proper thoughts- “Ah fuck!” Electricity thrummed through his body as he shuttered, able to feel himself twitch against Lucifer’s tongue for a moment as he snapped.

Lucifer didn’t stop, working him through it until Vox had to pull him off. He looked far too smug when he did.

Fuck man.” He groaned, flopping back on the bed.

“Consiter it a thank you.” Lucifer told him, resting his head on Vox’s thigh.

Vox didn’t have time to come up with a clever response before he noticed something moving in his peripheral vision.

“Alastor!” He startled, noticing Alastor sitting in his armchair. “I- uh,” He scrambled. shooting back up. “How long have you been there?” He asked sheepishly.

Alastor just waved him off. “Long enough dear.” He said, voice perfectly tempered to indifference.

Vox knew they weren’t doing anything wrong, Alastor had said as much! Vox and Lucifer were free to do as they liked and he didn’t care if he was there or not!

So why did he feel like he did something wrong?

Maybe it was the way there was something unreadable in Alastor’s indifferent expression. Confliction maybe?

“This uh- isn’t-” He looked back at Lucifer, still resting his head on Vox’s thigh with his hand in his hair while he gave him an incredulous look.

What it looks like?” Alastor finished for him. “I really doubt it’s anything other than what it looks like- and if it is I don’t think I’d want to know what it was.” He told them. “I don’t know why you’re scrambling dear, this is all completely within the bounds of acceptable, although I may have something to say about just how quickly you two took my suggestion and ran with it, I really don’t know what I expected with how needy you both are.” There was certainly something under the indifference Alastor tried to convey.

“Hey!” Lucifer protested.

“Not an insult, just an observation.” Alastor defended. “I don’t care what you do with your free time, although if you would use some of it to clean up all the feathers I would appreciate it.”

“Did you know he was here?” Vox asked Lucifer, he just tilted his head in a shrug.

Vox wasn’t going to pry into whatever Alastor was trying to hide, that never ended well. He let it be.

He would leave it and hope Alastor either dealt with it or actually tried to talk about it himself.

Not like that would ever happen, but it was the better option than pushing him and something going wrong.

And, he had a good thing with Lucifer here- he thinks- maybe- he thought it was at least.

So, he’d leave it.

And hope nothing bad happened.

Nothing bad would ever happen to him right?

Notes:

Vox really said “I can make him worse” and started making him better on accident. Whoops.
I got like, most of the way through this and then went “Wait shit this is a smut series, this was supposed to be a wing kink fic uhhhh fuck. Fuck.”
I WILL project my sad nerd tendencies onto Vox so help me god. And him. He will be suffering for my autism. He needs it. The suffering and the help, they’re both necessary.
If you care, Al is in fact talking to Rosie about his maybe jealousy issue. :3
