Chapter Text
Previously on Don’t Do It:
Michelle smiled against her lips. “Good. Because I’m done pretending too.”
" let's get this so called wedding out of the way then me and you can be together for good this time." Carla said.
Carla took Michelle hand and led them to the sofa, when Michelle sat down, she immediately open up her arms for Carla. Carla went in Michelle arms and rested her head in her shoulder.
Michelle stroked Carla hair " so have you heard from Ryan or Sean yet. "
" yeah they said they saw Lisa and Becky walking hand in hand together and kissing." Carla replied.
Time Skip:
It was the day of the wedding and Carla couldn't wait to teach Lisa and Becky a lesson, she had received all the evidence of Lisa cheating, she messaged Ryan and Sean and said she owed them for getting the evidence, but Ryan said it was his pleasure.
Carla also messaged Michelle and said she loved her and that she would see her at the wedding.
A couple of hours later everyone was seated for the wedding, Michelle sat with Eva, Leanne and Marie, Ryan and Sean also sitting with them.
Carla and Lisa stood at the front of the church ready to exchange vows but Carla stopped proceedings,
" I can't marry you Lisa, not when I know what you have been doing for the last few months."
Lisa looked genuinely confused.
Carla pressed the button, and the video started playing on the white screen at the altar's side. Grainy footage from the bar: Lisa and Becky laughing, then leaning in, hands intertwined, a kiss that deepened as the clip rolled on. Texts overlaid the screen—flirty messages, plans for secret meetups, all timestamped over the past months.
The church fell silent, then erupted in whispers. Lisa's face drained of color, her hands flying to her mouth as she stared at the screen. "Carla... that's not... I can explain—"
"Explain?" Carla's voice cut through, steady but laced with hurt. Lisa staggered back a step, tears welling up, her composure shattering as she glanced wildly at the guests, then back at Carla. "How could you? I trusted you!"
Lisa's shock twisted into upset, her voice breaking. "This is humiliating! You're ruining everything—our day, our future! How could you do this to me?"
Carla met her gaze unflinchingly, the remote still clutched in her hand. "You're shocked and upset? You're not the one who should be. I've been the fool here, thinking we had something real while you were sneaking around with Becky. It's over, Lisa. We're done."
Lisa's sobs echoed in the stunned silence, but Carla turned to the crowd, her chin lifted. "I'm so sorry, everyone, for dragging you here under false pretenses. There won't be a wedding today. Please, accept my apologies—and maybe grab some cake on the way out. It's vanilla; no one's allergic."
A few awkward chuckles broke the tension, guests shifting in their seats. Becky, seated near the back, bolted upright and slipped out a side door, face flushed. Lisa lingered a moment longer, glaring through tears, before storming down the aisle, her gown swishing like a defeated flag.
Carla exhaled, the weight lifting as the projector flickered off. She scanned the rows until her eyes locked on Michelle, who was already standing, a soft smile breaking through the chaos. "Chelle? Will you join me up here?"
Michelle nodded, weaving through the seats with grace, ignoring the stares. Eva squeezed her hand as she passed, Leanne whispering a quick "Go get her." Ryan and Sean grinned, Sean giving a subtle thumbs-up.
Michelle reached the front, stepping up beside Carla, their hands finding each other naturally. Facing the bewildered but captive audience, Carla spoke first, her voice clear and unwavering. "This wasn't how I pictured today, but it's honest. Michelle, you've been my best friend, my everything, for years. I love you—not as a friend, but as the woman I want by my side forever. I'm sorry it took this mess to see it clearly."
Michelle's eyes shimmered, her grip tightening on Carla's hand. "And I love you, Carla. Always have. You're my adventure, my calm, my home. No more hiding it—from anyone."
They turned to each other then, sealing the declaration with a kiss—gentle at first, then full of the promise they'd whispered in the flat nights before. The church erupted in a mix of applause and surprised cheers, Ryan and Sean whooping loudest from their seats.
In that moment, Carla knows she made the best decision, because now she could focus on being with Michelle.
The End.
