Summary
Oliver—once known as the Prototype—built a world he believed would last forever. A perfect kingdom. A perfect order. A Heaven meant for two.
In the aftermath of its collapse, however, Oliver awakens in an oddly familiar world—except everything here is wrong. For one thing, the power he once wielded so easily is gone, and the rules of this place refuse to bend to his will. Worse still, Poppy is here too—alive, stubborn, and just as infuriatingly determined to oppose him as ever.
Stranded in a reality neither of them understands, Oliver clings to the belief that everything he did was necessary—that the suffering he caused was the price of keeping them safe. But as the world around him begins to challenge the certainty he built his life upon, that belief becomes harder and harder to defend.
Meanwhile, Poppy must decide whether the monster who once tried to reshape the world for her sake is truly beyond redemption… or if the boy beneath the Prototype still has the chance to become someone different.
And so between old grudges, uneasy alliances, and the ruins of everything Oliver once believed in, only one question remains:
Is reconciliation even possible?
