“He said no? Again?” Tara exclaimed.

“Yes, he very much did,” Nick chuckled.

“And you’re not - upset? This whole thing has been going on for quite some time now.”

“No, I’m not. It’s like a game at this point, you know? I propose in a ridiculous way, he shuts it down, and we both have a laugh about it.”

Tara sighed deeply. “You know, I’ve known you for years, but sometimes I really don’t get this part of the dynamic between you two.”

“I do!” came Darcy’s voice from the kitchen.

Tara rolled her eyes affectionately. “Of course you do!”
