Summary
Bucky has lived with the Avengers for a while now, and he's mostly settled in. During the process, he fell for Tony Stark - hard - but he can't quite bring himself to admit it to the brilliant engineer. So he just does what he can to take care of and protect him, hoping that maybe the other man will fall just as hard for him... and be the one to take their relationship to the next level. In the meantime, he's noticed that there's one member of the team that Tony seems afraid of, and he is definitely not pleased by the notion.
Once he finds out what Wanda did to cause that fear, she might wish she'd never left Hydra.

Summary
When the Rogues are back in the States after being pardoned, the New Avengers want nothing to do with them and as far as Tony is concerned, if he never speaks to them again, it'll be too soon. After all, he didn't spend the last year putting himself (and his family) back together only for his former co-workers to ruin all of his hard work.
But then he gets a hand-written letter from the Winter Soldier himself, apologizing for the events that transpired and an off-handed comment from Rhodey about Rogers failing to take care of an obviously miserable Bucky Barnes sets in motion Tony's new, oh-so-evil plan to get some payback.
After all, what better revenge than to steal the Winter Soldier away from his best friend?
The only problem: Tony sucks at being vengeful, but apparently he's an expert at inadvertently falling in love.

Tony is trying is best to avoid the group as they keep trying to corner him because Steve wants to "talk" to him. One night when Steve, Sam, Nat, and Wanda surround Tony, blocking all doors out. When he tries to walk away, Steve gives Tony a little shove back into the room, his strength caving in Tony's chest and throwing his artificial ribs out of alignment, damn near killing him. Vision shows up then and takes Tony to safety and Dr. Cho.

Stark men are made of iron.Tony is made of diamond.
So he sends his mind away. He is no longer in his creepy cell, but in his shop. No one can hurt him in his workshop. No one can touch him. He is invincible there, surrounded by his tech and his bots. Unstoppable. The master of his domain.
“Tony Stark,” it – he – states. His voice is low and gravelly.
“That's me. The one and only,” Tony says, “I must say, you have stunning accommodations here. Seriously. I've had to stay in some real dumps before, but this is almost roomy.” Naturally he has to start sassing right away. If anyone else were here with him, they'd either be rolling their eyes or telling him to shut up. No one seems to realize that it serves a purpose. First of all, it's a way to judge his captors. How will they respond? How violent are they? How in control of the situation/ their emotions? Secondly, it's his primary coping mechanism. How so few people have figured that out is beyond him, but it's true. Sass and humor is the way he deals with shit. Only no one will let him have it. Assholes.

Summary
Steve makes a life-altering choice, and Bucky wakes up from cryostasis to better circumstances than he could anticipate: Mind free of triggers, name cleared, fully pardoned, and a ticket back to the USA. It's far more than he deserves, but with no other plans or ties, he finds himself relocating to the Avengers Initiative Compound alongside Stevie's rogue superheroes.
He begins establishing a new life - friends, work, maybe even love - but doesn't realize that the castles he is painstakingly building are ones in the sky.
