Zagreus was a toddler when his mother took off into the great unknown, leaving him and their life in a Staten Island funeral home behind. He is twenty-three when she comes crashing back into his life, offering him a home away from his tyrannical father and an opportunity to reclaim the relationship she'd abandoned long ago. Choosing his mother's life and refuge in Brooklyn seems to hurt just about everyone who matters in the borough of his birth, but Zagreus has a whole new family in the colorful Oreivatises from Queens. Reconciling a lifetime of trauma with the stories of so many others in his life may be the hardest thing Zagreus has ever had to do, but in the end, it's worth it.

Strange things are going on in Gotham: A series of crimes linked only by a sentence uttered. A drug that no one seems to be selling, but lots of people are taking. An old enemy reborn, or someone pretending to be him. Graffiti that can't be photographed by normal means. Bartenders disappearing without a trace. John Constantine is also there.
Danny wants nothing to do with any of it. He just wants to sell burgers and survive. Actually, he'd like to go home again, but since that isn't possible, he'll stick with burgers.
Gotham's vigilante's have other plans.
This is why Danny doesn't do favors.

[Time passes oddly. Between one second and the next, Sokka has the Fire Lord pinned to the wall with his hands around the bastard’s throat. Golden eyes (one gold eye, his mind whispers) widen in shock.
“Sokka?” he chokes out. And then he smiles.
What the fuck?
“Sokka, I—”
Sokka slams his head against the wall, once, twice, and the smile wipes off his face. Good.
“What,” Sokka bites out, “have you done to my sister?”]
