“Yeah! You remember?” Mikey says brightly.
“I remember the light,” he replies slowly. He sets his cup down, and his hand drifts over to the crumpled-up photo sitting on the cot beside him. He doesn’t lift it or look at it, he just sets his hand on it, like he’s taking strength from its existence. “It was so dark and cold, and then the sun came out. I think I reached for it. I don’t know how I ended up here.”
Rise!Mikey's portal in the prison dimension takes Leo a little bit farther than he meant for it to. 03!Raph is beginning to wonder if he and his brothers will ever have a normal day, like, ever.

He could feel his pulse.
His brother was alive.
Just as Mikey was about to pull him back, his hand froze mid-air, screaming suddenly filling his ears.
Different voices, voices that belonged to him- his brothers, filled the air, all different kinds and messes of different conversations jumbled together, unable to know what conversation was about what, overwhelming his senses.
Behind the portal, he could see different versions of his family- a shorter Raphael, a beast Leonardo, a crazy Michelangelo, an abusive Splinter, a dead Donatello, all different kinds of stories and worlds.
The worlds closest to the Prison Dimension.
Which world was theirs?
OrAfter the events of the movie, instead of bringing Leo home, Mikey manages to somehow, bring his brother to the 2012 dimension instead.
Now, unable to reach his brothers and his ninpo acting odd, the 2012 crew has to find a way to return the younger Leonardo back home.
While the rise dimension tries to find ways to accept their loss.

“I said it’s not fucking fair!” Raph roars, jumping up. “Do you know where we are Leo? We’re a block away from that Mutant pizza place. The one where they can just walk into and not hide. Hell, there’s a whole fucking city where they don’t have to be afraid. Where they can live a full fucking life not hiding in the damn sewers.”
It’s not fair. They’ve never had that, none of the dimensions have had that. The freedom to walk down a fucking street and not be stared at. The ability to make friends, relationships a-a life. And he made peace with that fact. Knowing that it was universal experience for all versions of themselves, made it easier to swallow until now. What made this one so goddamn special.

This cool, magical, confident version of himself, that doesn’t resemble him in the slightest. Leonardo’s like the kids that stalk the hallways. Untouchable, but with a grin and wit that pulls everyone in. Leo’s the complete opposite; perpetually awkward in the halls and in his leadership. Even now the older turtle flips with an ease he can’t hope to obtain.

Summary
Mickey succeeds in making a portal, but portals are tricky. They don't always bring people to their intended destination. instead of bring Leo home he sends him to another dimension. A dimension that is very similar to feudal Japan. Leo will need to figure out how to get home while also navigating new relationships and dangers.
Meanwhile his family is dealing with grief in their own way. Some won't believe that he is gone, others are trying to accept it and move forward. But how do you keep moving when a fourth of your heart is missing.

Basically these turtles have given me brain rot in the worst way. I saw a lot of people using the portal as a way to send Leo to other TMNT universe and wanted to try my hand. This time though its Usagi's world he gets sent to.Series
