This series is effectively one long story arc, which takes place 10 years after the events of Witcher-The Wild Hunt. Following the main characters of the games in a multi-pov style, the story delves into the politics of the continent post the Nilfgaardian invasion of the north. Ciri, having chosen a life as a witcher, is called back by urgent news to the capital of Nilfgaard. Pairings will change slightly over time, centrally ending up as Geralt/Emyhr. Adequately described as "slow-burn", one key intention of the series is to follow a natural progression of their relation through various stages, rather than a "fuck or die", magical setup, or political plot. The story also thematises the gen relations between Ciri and Emhyr, Ciri and Geralt, as well as Yennefer and other key characters from the games.
