“Fire Lord Zuko,” Uncle starts, and Zuko recoils from the formal address. It feels different than it used to when he was banished and Uncle would make a point of addressing him as Prince Zuko. Once upon a time it had made him think of his mother’s parting words, "Never forget who you are," but he does not feel like a Fire Lord at all despite the crown he now wears. He feels so much like he did back when he was thirteen, the stinging pain of a fresh burn scar nagging at him as he tries to project confidence about the impossible quest before him.
