“I’m going on a mission.” Ghost’s head snapped up at Johnny’s words. He knew something had been playing on the Scot’s mind, he’d been fidgeting since he got back from Price’s office.
“Where? When? How long?” Johnny wasn’t surprised by the questions rattled off by Ghost. He just wasn’t sure the Brit would like the answers.
“Mexico. Tonight. One week.” Ghost’s eyes sharpened; a scorn hidden behind his mask. Something unnerving rattled in his chest. This will have been the first mission in nearly 4 years that he hadn’t been on with Johnny. He didn’t like the thought, he shut it down. Closing his eyes and taking in a sharp breath.

Ghost checked the clock for the fourth time in an hour. The guys were supposed to be back from their mission by now. It was just a simple recon mission, in and out without any blood spilt. Ghost only fears the something must’ve gone wrong. He sent his men willingly on that mission. He sent Soap on that mission.
Ghost dampens the next thought before it even blossoms in his mind.

“And you’re sure you’re ready?” Ghost asked for what felt like the millionth time.
“Yes Si, I’m ready. Come on, Price has been testing me for months, I have run some recon missions, I’m itching to get back into the real stuff.” Ghost couldn’t help the worry that still sat in his chest. This was Johnny’s first serious mission since he’d gotten shot, his first serious mission in nine months.
He reached out slowly, fingertips just brushing Johnny’s forehead, dancing over the prominent scar, “What about the migraines?”
“Aye haven’t had on in a while Si, just little headaches.” They used to get really bad, bad to the point where Johnny wouldn’t be able to move. At the start they were particularly bad, every other day. But the more time has passed they became fewer and farther apart.
“Wheels up in five!”
“If something starts to feel wrong, I’ll let you know, straight away.”
