just a little teaser for my upcoming story. I have two full chapters written, and this is the first part of the third. actual scenes from the First Avenger so, I guess, Spoilers?!
I call this a bit of a character study on what was going on in Steve and Bucky's heads in these two scenes. mostly Bucky but still.
I suck at Summariesit's Bucky's last night out with Steve, and we get an inside look at what exactly he is thinking when he sees Steve trying to enlist.

Was it the capacity for compassion that made him perfect for Rebirth. Or, perhaps, it was the secret his family left behind in Ireland; the secret of his family origins in lost Numenor; in Middle Earth.
What if Steve was more than what he seemed? What if he carried the blood of Elros Tar Minyatur, and the blood of Numenor?
Bucky always knew Steve was special, and he would do anything to show the world that; to keep his fragile heart beating… even sell his body for money. But choices come with a price, a price he might not be willing to pay.
In the middle of The War, a child is about to be born that will change the fate of them all forever; for Steve isn’t the only one who was special. And Heaven’s had their eye on James "Bucky" Barnes for a while.

part 1 has some Tony & Howard feels
Steve hates the way he is portrayed in the comics, and Bucky hates them even more. (he's a Sergeant in the US Army and the best sniper in the Allied forces, not a teen sidekick!)
In the middle of the war, Steve aims to set the record straight. so with the skills god gave him and his improved talents, Steve creates the first Graphic Novel titled: Captain America and the Howling Commandoes. it has everything in it. (well, everything within reason. Project rebirth is still Classified, and Steven is a secret that not even the President has clearance to know about truthfully.) Steve tells the story of Captain America, and how he got started; thirty years later Howard remembers that little kid from Brooklyn with a gift for art and shows his only son a glimpse of the real Steve Rogers.

Summary
It’s been forty years since Steve crashed the Valkyrie in the Arctic. SHIELD has been following the bloody trail of the Red Room’s most feared and Mythical Assassins, over the years. They don’t know anything about the pair and what little they have is rumor and hearsay at best. They have their code-names, and vague descriptions. They were both strong and fast; one blond haired, and said to have amazing powers, and one with dark hair with a Metal arm. They are the Winter Soldier and the Winter Knight: Russia's mythical super soldiers and most feared Ghost Assassins.
After trying to capture them for decades, to no avail, suddenly MI6 agent Arion Ingwion comes to Director Stark and Carter of SHIELD with their identities and a message from the Knight: they want out! That is not the most shocking part. It’s the identity of the assassins: Captain Steven Buchanan and Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes.
Salvation also comes for Bucky from an unseen force: the Archangel Micheal, who is tired of his brothers' manipulations and deceit, and decides to take fate into his own hands.

Summary

Summary
Thought lost for all time, the frozen corpse of Steve Rogers was found in the arctic on the morning of April the 14th, 2012.
It was supposed to be a time of mourning and solace, a day that Yasha and Steven Buchanan would remember for all time as the Day Steve Rogers came home from the war. It was supposed to be the day Yasha and Steven received closure for the loss of a loved one: for Steven a man he hadn’t seen in almost 70 years, and for Yasha the father he had never met.
But instead of a funeral, there was a hospital room, Instead of a dirge, a baseball game. Instead of a dead father and friend, they got a living one.
On April 17th Steve Rogers wakes to a world that is drastically changed, and in some ways not. But Steve Rogers did what was right, and gave his life for his country; he just never expected to wake up. And he certainly didn’t expect to fight an army from outer space, with a pair of spies, a man in a flying suit of armor, a demi-god, and a giant green rage monster.The world certainly has changed.
