He blinks, and they aren’t eyes at all, but feathers, perched on a mound of coiled, shifting vines that are dotted with white thorns dyed their own bright red from Shen Qingqiu’s blood.
“Go to sleep, Shizun,” the black-and-red bird sings, coaxing.
“Go to sleep,” Luo Bingge repeats, as he flickers back into being.

Perhaps the biggest mistake Shen Qingqiu makes in this moment is not his confidence in Luo Binghe’s abilities nor the potential ripple effects of the changed situation surrounding his broken seal: it’s that he doesn’t think to be cautious of Luo Binghe.
Shen Qingqiu, in his years in this role, has never harmed Luo Binghe. He hasn’t betrayed Luo Binghe yet. Shen Qingqiu has become far too accustomed to their easy, fond companionship. He forgets, in this moment, the way qi balance shifting wildly out of equilibrium can make people behave in unexpected, unpredictable, often violent ways.
Even toward those they love.

Was it so surprising that all this new sensory knowledge would combine with Shen Qingqiu’s extensive knowledge of BL tropes—courtesy of his sister’s novel collection—and cause his subconscious mind to produce a naked, horny Binghe? And what was more natural for a naked, horny Binghe to do than to start having sex with whatever person was closest?
In this case, the closest person had been Shen Qingqiu. Dreams were funny like that, sometimes.

Summary
The Veiled Soul-Seer was known for being able to grant a person's deepest desire. Luo Binghe went to her with the expectation that she'd deliver the kind, sweet Shizun he'd seen in the other world (the one married to that weak, unworthy version of himself). That was, after all, what Luo Binghe wanted most.
So why did he wake up to find himself back in his fourteen-year old body, in the woodshed, as a disciple on Qing Jing Peak?
Now his empire is gone, as is his harem, cultivation, and physical strength. He'll have to rebuild it all from scratch, and while knowing the future should speed things up significantly, acting like an innocent human child after hundreds of years of being an all-powerful demon emperor might be more difficult than he'd anticipated…
