Summary
Robert doesn't know who he is outside of the suit. He feels like there's nothing for him to live for after the explosion, and he has a bad habit of carelessly throwing himself into danger, passively hoping he'll kick the bucket. His dog, Beef, is the only thing holding him back from doing the unthinkable.
When he starts dispatching for the Z-Team, things start to change as he gets closer to them. They see him struggling and decide to help in the ways they can. He finds a family there that he never thought he'd have.
Meanwhile, Robert is getting especially close to Flambae. He keeps finding himself both dragged and drawn towards him like a moth to flame. He struggles with the guilt of not being able to tell him that he's also Mecha Man while their friendship develops. Oh, and he might be falling for him, too, and that just makes things worse. Can he even hope that things will turn out okay?

Summary
Chase was pissed. He was furious, terrified, heartbroken.
But most importantly, he was procrastinating.
Chase adored being a hero. He loved helping people, loved using his powers to speed throughout the world in a second, loved showing off and although he wouldn't admit it—to a certain degree—he loved the fame.
But mainly, he loved that he never had to deliver bad news.

Chase takes care of Robert in the aftermath of his dad’s death and has to speed run being a parent.

A mysterious power-outage and some strange (even for Torrance) calls should be nothing for the team of heroes that took down Shroud and the Red Ring last month. Unfortunately, something stalking the dark halls of the SDN office seems to want the Z-Teams' dispatcher dead.
Their dispatcher who is far more concerned with solving tonight's mystery than with his own safety.

Summary
The fight between Robert and Shroud ends much differently. He had still gotten away in the nick of time and the bomb had still been stuck to his suit. However, the explosion had left Robert with injuries so severe that it was a miracle he'd survived. Regardless of how life-altering his injuries were, SDN was still willing to take a chance on Robert. Managing his disabilities and mentoring the team was the hardest balancing act of his life.
Will Robert fuck up his only chance of becoming Mecha Man again? Or will he manage to contain it all, and find himself growing a little too close to a certain flaming asshole?
