Minerva sighs. “No matter how you disagree with other Heads of Houses’ behavior, you cannot yell at them. That is what Albus is for. If we had accused you of the things you did Flitwick? You would have rioted, Severus. It’s not our place.”
Severus pauses and considers her words. Would he have wanted that?
“I do wish that one of our colleagues, especially you, had spoken to me about my behavior. And yes,” He adds, quieter than before. “It would have been embarrassing. I would have been upset—but I could have changed sooner. Been less cruel. I would have valued, eventually, that you cared enough about the students to do something one might deem improper in order to help them.”
Shrugging, Severus looks down to the water. He misses being a teenager. No, he just... he wishes his teen years were different.
Maybe he’d know better sooner.

The staff avoided him like the plague, ignored him, or straight up left when he went into the staff room.
And the worst thing was that they didn't even try to hide their collective disgust for him. If he got into the staff room in the morning and any of them were there, they would immediately get up and go sit on the furthest side of the room, as far from him as possible.
