Summary
"Fullmetal—?" Mustang begins. A question in his voice. He probably wasn’t expecting Edward to come in, what with the rain and all. But Edward cuts him off, his brain circling.
"Where's Hawkeye?"
Mustang opens his mouth. But Edward's gaze snags on the medical kit, and the anxiety that flares in his chest is sudden and unreasonable and very, very familiar.
"Where's Hawkeye?" he repeats, frantic.
"Relax," Mustang says. "She has a fever. She’s been home—she's fine."
Fever. Edward registers the word. Registers the date, too, the way it sits at the back of his mind like something with weight. He doesn't feel relieved.
Or; Hawkeye is sick, and Edward can’t see anything else but the pale, fevered face of his mother and decides he won’t let it happen again.

Surprisingly, Edward Elric's first steps are for his father.
His last steps are for his brother.
(Everything in between is just learning to step forward.)

Summary
"Deep breaths, please. All the way in."
Edward complied without much fight, though his brow twitched with early irritation.
"I’m fine," his voice muffled through the plastic.
"Doesn't matter, Major." The medic's tone was professionally blunt. "No offence, but you're much more likely to develop complications than any other soldier here. Smoke exposure just compounds it."
Edward bristled immediately. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
"Means you're a walking medical liability, Chief," Havoc called out cheerfully, cigarette dangling from his lips. "High maintenance."
Or; Edward and his struggle to ask for help.

Summary
There’s a killer in East City. And they’re targeting children.
With the investigation crumbling and bodies piling up, Colonel Roy Mustang makes a calculated choice: send the Elrics away. Keep them moving, keep them out of reach.
But missions stack. Leads vanish. Edward’s running on fumes—and Roy’s running out of time.
Because monsters aren’t the only thing that can break a soldier. Sometimes, it’s the people trying to protect them.

Summary
There's a man running towards you and the golden-haired boy.
“Sorry about that,” he says easily. “That’s my son you’ve got there—”
The boy makes a sound. It's not a word, but it’s close to one—close enough to be no.
“—thank you for catching him. I was so worried.” He steps forward, arm outstretched, like he’s about to take the boy back by the collar.
You move first.
You take a full step back, shielding the kid behind your legs.
Or, you’re not a good person. You know that. But you’re not a monster either.
So when a kid comes running, terrified, bruised, and silent, you catch him. You shield him. You don’t know why. Instinct, maybe. Or guilt.
But either way, you don’t let go.

Summary
“Can you braid my hair?” She asked, letting go of Edward’s sleeve and looking up at him with wide eyes, “Papa usually does but he was too busy this morning.”
And if Edward was a little less sensitive, he might’ve even refused, but it was hard for him to say no to Nina when she had to spend most of the day by herself or with only Alexander to keep her company. He could imagine how lonely she felt.
“Sure,” Edward said with a short exhale.

Edward braids Nina's hair and he lets her braid his.

Summary
“Let me wash your hair,” Winry said after a few moments, causing Edward to turn around quickly, his leg clicking as he did so. He furrowed his eyebrows, opening his mouth to say something but Winry cut him off.
“You used to let Granny wash your hair when we were kids,” Winry insisted, “let me take care of you.”
“That was when we were kids,” Edward took a step back, turning away so he didn’t have to see Winry’s expression, “I don’t need someone to wash my hair.”

Summary
Immediately, Al shifts into his brother’s line of sight, leaning forward and reaching out a hand that Ed frantically latches onto. He’s trembling, sweat plastering his hair to his face, his eyes wide and searching as he grasps Al’s hand between both flesh and steel, hard enough that Al can see his knuckles turn white even in the dark room, illuminated only by the fragile moonbeams streaming in through the window.
“It’s okay, brother,” he says softly. “I’m here, I’m okay.” Ed is panting, his breaths tipping over each other as his gaze wavers, cracking, and Al repeats it over and over, watching the tension in his brother’s shoulders loosen just slightly with every iteration. In the corner of his vision, at the very edge of his helmet, he can see the moon slowly arc across the inky sky.
(Ed has a nightmare.)

Summary
Homecoming AU.
Ben and May divorced before Peter’s parents died, so when Ben is murdered Peter goes into foster care. It takes just a tiny taste of superpowers for Peter to decide he doesn’t want to put up with his horrible foster father anymore—the streets are infinitely more appealing. All he wants is to be Spider-Man anyway.
So he leaves.
Simple.
Simple, that is, until Iron Man needs Spider-Man’s help. Peter isn’t about to turn down an opportunity to fight alongside Tony Freaking Stark, but he also isn’t going to let his hero know that his recruit is a fifteen-year-old homeless dropout. So they strike a deal. Peter will help Tony. In return, the mask stays on.
And that’s when things get complicated.
