“…Can I sleep here with you?” he mumbles, embarrassed flush high on his cheeks and staring disdainfully at his lap.
He didn’t want to but there was no other option — Power would never wake up and even if she did, Denji’s had enough experience of getting kneed in the crotch by her because the fiend shifts way too much in her sleep. He’s only just gotten his two balls back, and he doesn’t really want to jeopardise them again.
Aki for his credit doesn’t snort derisively or straight up kick Denji out his room like the blonde had expected. Instead he pins him with this stare, blue eyes far too intelligent for Denji’s liking, boring into his goddamn soul and reading him like one of those books he likes to flick through when he has a smoke after dinner.
“Alright.”
Denji needs a cuddle buddy now that Pochita’s gone — Aki will suffice right?

Summary
Although they both had younger sisters and were about the same age, Sid could list a hundred reasons how they were different: first of all, Andy only played with fragile baby toys, the ones that ripped and broke easily—Sid blew toys like that up, and kept the sturdier ones who could handle a transplant or two. Secondly, he wasn’t really into action as much as Sid was, something the older boy could tell from listening at the fence as Andy roleplayed with his favorite toys, saving the town, getting the girl, etc. Sid wouldn’t admit that he didn’t really know how to play with toys, so to speak, preferring to cut them open and replace their limbs with various objects.
They didn’t play together, and they weren’t friends. Still, that hadn’t stopped Sid from preparing something a few days before Andy’s birthday party.

Summary
It’s not that Belle doesn’t love Adam. It’s not even the transformation - it was surprising, but she wouldn’t say that the Beast becoming a handsome prince was a bad surprise. In many ways it made the entire situation much easier; but in others, it was somehow more complicated.
A Beast might live a life filled with wonder and whimsy, but most decent Princes won’t. And despite the odd temper tantrum, Adam was a good Prince. He had learned the harsh lesson imposed upon him, as intended.
It was all wonderful, really. It was amazing to see the changes come to the surrounding towns, left without central leadership for so long, without development, or infrastructure, or expanding trade. Even Belle would have been hard pressed to dismiss them as quaint and provincial now, blossoming as they were.
She wanted it to be enough.
It wasn’t.
