“I do not ship NickelSteel,” Edgeworth exclaims, then slaps a hand over his mouth. He glances across the table. Phoenix and Gumshoe are engaged in a lively discussion with Larry and have missed the whole interaction. Apparently, this is all the reassurance Edgeworth needs to lean across the table towards Maya and hiss, “Nickel and Steel’s relationship is that of a mentor and mentee. If you insist upon me shipping Steel with anyone but his canon love interest, which I do not, then I’d pick the Evil Magistrate, obviously.”
Maya claps her hands in delight. “Oh, Mr Edgeworth,” she says, “We are about to have so much fun.”

Summary
Jupiter North is just about to leave the realm on an expedition when some of the worst news he has ever heard in his life is delivered. The Hotel Deucalion is burning. After rushing home, he has to hold together a fractured crew of now jobless staff, and two teenagers who rely on him, and his hotel, for their every need. Forced to push aside his own feelings, Jupiter comes to a breaking point and evaporates into hopelessness.
The Deucalion is gone. And Jupiter's not sure how much of him she took with her.
