Kaz gingerly reached his hand to his head, probing through his curly hair. He winced as his fingers brushed against a lump, the skin swollen and scraped. A smear of dried blood clung to his scalp. As his hand trailed down his face, his fingers paused at his eye. His breathing stopped, and without thinking, he rubbed at the spot, his fingers slick with moisture.
“Oh, for fuck's sake.” Kaz spat, his voice embarrassingly squeaky. He gagged, and disgust curdled in his stomach.
He couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t just his body. It wasn’t just his voice. He was crying.
Kaz slammed his fist against the cobbles in front of him driven by thoughtless anger. A white-hot stab of pain shot up his entire arm. His hand screamed, and he hissed between his teeth. He stared, dumbfounded, at his offending hand. It was so small. Small enough to make his breath catch. Kaz looked down at the rest of himself. He was small.
Tiny, in fact. His clothes, once snug and carefully tailored, now hung off him. His button-up shirt, now the only thing covering him, reached his knees and hung like a rag. His body had been shrunk down. He was reduced. Less. Young.

Jordie’s neck prickled, thinking of the hard-eyed stare in the Crow Club.
“I’ve been in enough harbours for one lifetime, thank you.” he said.
He was rewarded with a very faint smile.

“You think it’s a memory?” Minho asks softly.
“Yeah,” Jisung breathes. “I think it might be… my past life. I know it sounds crazy, but I can’t shake the feeling. It’s like… it’s like my brain is trying to tell me something. Like it’s showing me who I used to be.”
He braces himself for the teasing. For Minho to laugh or roll his eyes or call him dramatic. But none of that happens. Instead, Minho shifts slightly, propping himself up on one elbow so he can look down at Jisung properly.

“W-Well…” Jisung replied stiffly, clearing his throat as he averted his eyes, “Since I saved that life of yours, you must live on, Minho-hyung.” He glanced back at him out of the corner of his eye, remarking in his usual, curt manner, “Or else my efforts will have gone to waste.”

He tries to hold on. He really does.
He tells himself it’s just affection. Easy, absent-minded, chaste. Just habit. Just Jisung being Jisung: too tactile, too fond, too unafraid of closeness. He keeps his eyes on the pan, keeps his shoulders steady, keeps breathing like nothing more is happening or needs to happen at all.
Like nothing monumental took place barely a few hours ago. Like a metaphorical elephant didn’t take residence on his sternum and made every breath since feel borrowed, thin, edged with want.
The pepero game ends onstage. The wanting doesn’t, it follows him home.

After raiding his home in the woods and killing the criminal, the detectives stumble upon a terrifying discovery: Im Hajoon had kidnapped a young man years ago and kept him as his slave in the isolated house. Unsure about the stranger they find chained in the bathroom, Jisung takes it upon himself to try and solve this new mystery and help someone who was believed to be dead.
