Summary
There are very few True Bards left, ones that can reach into the echoes of the Spoken Words that brought the world into existence and weave the magic of Creation into everything they do. Jaskier is one of these bards. It takes… a considerably long time for everyone else to realize this.
Or, several times Jaskier’s companions didn’t notice his true nature, and one time they definitely did.

Summary
When Juno and Minerva told him he was going to die if he activated the device to save the world, he believed them. They had no reason to lie and Minerva’s expression made it clear that she had been worried. Whether she had been worried about him or about the future of the world if Juno got out, Desmond didn’t know.
But he couldn’t help but think that Minerva had a hand in all these.
That the reason why he woke up in the city of Jerusalem during the 12th century was because of something she did.
Still…
He would have appreciated it if she didn’t also return him to his 16-year-old body.
Now, having no idea what to do, Desmond decided to let history play out the way it did before and made his way to Alamut to be inducted into the Brotherhood without being part of Masyaf.
This way he could monitor everything without being in the middle of it.Unfortunately, he forgot one important thing.
Everything he knows of this time period was based on Altaïr’s memories.
And, thanks to how different Abstergo’s Animus was from Rebecca’s, Altaïr’s memories had always been incomplete.

Desmond needed a job after Bad Weather was closed down for illegal gambling on centaur races.
Yes.
It was as dumb as it sounded.
So now, here he was, applying for an in-house support (whatever that means) for an unknown training center with a centaur that, apparently, needed some assistance after an injury he sustained last year.
He guessed his blood would lead him back to the centaur racing scene sooner or later.
At the very least, in-house support meant he was supposed to fade into the background.

When the provost marshal looks at her, looks down at his paper, looks back at her, and grimaces, Sakura knows it’s not going to be good.

Kids are the joy of life, cousin Mikoto once said, presenting him with the ugliest, wrinkliest, most eyesoreful infant possible. Itachi opened his eyes then, and, almost as if he could read Obito’s thoughts and decipher the grimace of disgust on his face, started crying and screeching like a captured bijou - Obito would know, he heard that sound many times by now.
So that was a fucking lie.
He forces himself not to comment on the armoury that the kid’s bed had become - he can allow Sasuke to keep some paranoia, as a treat - and instead tugs at the covers.
Three more shuriken and a kunai fall to the floor.
“I’m happy right here. Can you teach me katon?” Sasuke tells him, as if Obito isn't going through every thing he knows about anger management in his head right now.
“Kid, seriously,” Obito rubs at his temples, “take it from me, only having training as your hobby will lead to a burnout,” or, to becoming a terrorist that gets thrown into the past against his will.
Or; after the fight with Kaguya, instead of dying, Obito finds himself in the Uchiha compound week post the massacre.
He ends up taking care of Sasuke.Or; Obito repents by becoming a parental figure.

Not many could say that they'd gotten crushed by a boulder, had half their body replaced by creepy alien flesh, was promptly held captive for a year by a supposed-to-be-dead Madara Uchiha, was saved by a randomly raiding pack of supervillains, then promptly killed by them, fixed up again, then dumped in a forest, and finally, FINALLY, returned home again.
Yeah.
His life has gotten pretty weird. But he's home, he has his family, and he has hope that someday soon he'll be able to say he didn't just survive the experience - but that he also come out of it pretty okay.
