"You should come by again," Gi-hun says, on a whim. "Anytime but the weekend."
In-ho turns in the doorway to look at him. He smiles, a full, real thing, that softens his cheeks and crinkles the corners of his eyes.
"I'll be here," He promises.
Gi-hun gets on the plane.

Summary
He wants, wants, wants.
Gi-hun swallows the want. Ignores the longing. Squeezes a little tighter on Young-il’s shoulder to check if he’s real.
“You can’t be here,” Gi-hun says, rough, hushed enough for the bystanders to not catch. They probably still do, the silence in the dormitory deafening.
“You weren’t supposed to be here,” Young-il says in return, leaning his head on the wall. He sighs and closes his eyes briefly. “You weren’t supposed to find out like this.”

Gi-hun said, stoically, “I knew I’d die when I asked to join the games again. Nothing has changed.”
“You think you have help coming, but you don’t!” Young-il said, louder. “No one’s coming for you, you get it? There’s no one! Only me!”

Summary
“You just have to trust me.”
Gi-hun blinks, and for a moment, In-ho sees the hesitation there. The subtle way Gi-hun weighs his options, considering whether to step away, to push back, to ask questions.
But In-ho has always known how to make people stay close. Not physically necessarily, but with words, with presence. With the kind of careful insistence that makes someone feel like they have no other choice but to listen. To lean in.
Or, In-ho is the one that takes the night shift with Gi-hun instead of Jung-bae. Some revelations are made.
