Summary
Damian had never been one to give gifts. Called them an archaic and capitalist method of bribing affection. To him, one only gave gifts in order to gain someone’s favor. Damian already had the favor he needed. He knew this and had known it for years. He had known since his first day living with him.
That day, the day Damian met him, was etched into his memory. Not that he’d ever want to erase it.

“Grayson, wait.”
He surprised himself with his own voice. He hadn’t meant to say it aloud.
Of course, Grayson paused and turned back to Damian, unease crossing his face before he schooled his expression back to the signature Grayson smile. He leaned against the doorway, arms crossed, and looked at the top of Damian’s head, since the teenager was glaring at the floor like he was trying to burn holes into it. “What’s up, baby bat?”
“Stop with the insolent nicknames,” Damian grit out, clenching his fists at his sides as his cheeks lit up like Christmas lights. He took a deep breath and forced his eyes to meet Grayson’s calm, royal blue ones. “I need to speak with you.”

Amazing characterization, lots of fluff and a little bit of angst and its all handled beautifully. Very cute fic, if you love Robin or Nancy this is a MUST read.
Mature warning is fair, theres mentions of sex but obviously nothing explicit.

Its very nostalgic to read, my biggest phase was DreamSMP and then I switched to DC so discovering this fic was a really nice surprise. (Thanks Tiktok.)
Give it a read if you can, it’s worth your time despite being unfinished.

Dick knew as soon as the words left his mouth he had said the wrong thing. Suddenly, Damian’s stiff posture was all that of a boy poised for fight or flight and the strained smile on Bruce’s face fell. Alfred’s poker face was solidly in place, but Dick still noticed the way his hands had stilled briefly as he was placing sandwiches onto their plates.
“Or not!” Dick was quick to try and deescalate the situation.
“No, no, it’s fine. I’ll just be in the cave. You can… play.”
It’s hard to deescalate a situation you don’t know the root cause of, apparently.
Bruce is Batman again. The transition is... less than smooth.
