Kaz Brekker, Wylan thought, was a very arrogant man.
Laying out his secret much like a cat lays out a dead animal for its owner, entirely too proud of itself. Of course, Wylan was mortified like the owner would be, but just like the owner this horrible feeling would dissipate and he would be able to throw this secret out like it had never truly mattered. Wylan would just have to hope Kaz didn’t go bringing another dead animal to his feet and leave it for Wylan to clean up.
