Inspired by AMC’s Interview With The Vampire (I know the show isn’t even out yet haha so I guess it’s inspired by the trailers?) but this is a modern AU and can technically be read with any versions (books, movie, show) of the characters in mind.

“Nothing, it’s just—It’s sweet,” Claudia admitted at last, looking at him shyly from behind her diary before she let her eyes fall to the page again. A beat later she let out a dreamy sigh and said, “I can’t wait to find somebody that looks at me like that one day.”
Her statement, simple and wistful though it was, made Louis’ happiness turn to ash in his mouth.

Just a bit of speculation about how Louis and Lestat will handle the realization that Claudia may resent them after she figures out she’ll never be able to grow up.

Soon enough the rest of the group joined them in the kitchen, the room becoming crowded in the morning rush.
As the day went on, Sett worried less and less about the vision he had, blaming it on a lack of sleep and dehydration. It was early, after all…

Aphelios was asleep in his bed. It wasn't unusual, it happened at least two times a week, but something about how the dim lights danced across Aphelios' face provoked the overwhelming urge to kiss him. Aphelios' lips lightly pursed, eyes gently shut, hand tucked against his pillow, and the fact that he asked him to talk to him until he fell asleep — it all made Sett's heart race.

It’s a phrase he hears often in different fonts, but it’s a phrase he’d rather not hear at all. The way the media tries to portray him and his role within the band is enough to make him question himself, stirring the inner workings of his mind. Aphelios stays lost in his own silence, unable to voice his turmoil.
Sett easily takes notice, not speaking on it until he finds the right moment.

Kenma shrugs, crossing his arms. When the flashlight turns off, he looks over Kuroo’s shoulder and his face scrunches up. Kuroo tenses and Kenma frowns, pointing weakly. “What is that?”
Kuroo whips around so fast that he slides off his chair onto the floor. His camera searches wildly around him as he slides backwards. The night vision camera across the room gives a full view of how Kuroo’s back is pressed into Kenma’s leg and his arm is brandishing the camera like a weapon. Kenma’s holding back a smile and is very close to failing, especially once Kuroo realizes that he’s getting messed with.
“Okay, fuck you,” Kuroo stands up awkwardly. He dusts off his pants and tries to maintain any remaining dignity he has. It doesn’t appear to be much. He looks a little like the angry cat emoticon. “I don’t wanna do this method anymore.”
The red flashlight flicks on. Kuroo screams.

“I see no pity sweets,” Kuroo observed with a crooked smile and raised eyebrows, “I told you the fake girlfriend would work.”
Kenma nodded his concession. “It did work. Only, instead of an imaginary Karasuno girl, they think we’re dating.” He said it as casually as if he were just telling Kuroo what level he was on.
“Huh?” Kuroo was sure he hadn’t heard him correctly.
Kenma looked at Kuroo as if he couldn’t imagine what part of it Kuroo didn’t get. “Us. They think we’re dating.”
“Oh.” So Kuroo hadn’t imagined that. Hadn’t, with sheer force of delusional will, heard what he wanted to hear.
Kenma seemed to catch on that Kuroo was not feeling as normal about this as he was. “Sorry. When I said I was in a relationship, they just assumed it was with you and I didn’t correct them. It was easier than making someone up.”
“Yeah. That makes sense,” Kuroo replied then took a big gulp of his water. His chest felt tight.
