Soundwave's banishment to the shadowzone has been bleak, uneventful and unending. He hasn't been able to contact Megatron or the Nemesis. He's low on fuel. If it weren't for the emotion-suppressing protocols he implemented before the war, he would be miserable.
And then one day a dimension-hopping Rodimus falls into the shadowzone and offers him a way out.
“You'll like the Lost Light,” said Rodimus. “Everyone gets a second chance, there. You wanna stay here forever?”

Maximal and Predacons each have a rich culture that goes all the way back to the Great War between Autobots and Decepticons. Even after thousands of generations have passed, they still don’t know each other all that well. Miscommunication and myths roam in between their ranks.
Rattrap has heard it before: CCC aka Con Claiming Culture. Most Maximals think it is a myth the porn industry thought of up for the pit of it. Primus knows how dirty and kinky mecha’s minds can get.
But Rattrap has infiltrated the other side. He knows the truth. He has observed it with his own optics. Doesn’t understand it one bit, but it remained a reminder for just how savage the Preds were.

With the most immediate leaking addressed, Springer begins to scan the area, including the wreckage. Information seeking is a good way to deal with the situation while ignoring the pressing signal from his processor that has been nagging him from the start.
Springer doesn't remember what was happening before the crash. He isn't sure why the crash happened. He doesn't know who is supposed to be here with him, if anyone. He doesn't know where here is supposed to be. And he doesn't know what his mission is.
The last part isn't entirely true.

Summary
Ironhide did not envision arriving to Earth in such an awful shuttle which has one pede in the scrapyard, and whose fault is it? Jazz's. And Prime's. And Megatron's. And whoever let him play astro-poker!
They'd get to Earth finally, but who knew how many pieces they would be in...Or: Ironhide and Jazz have found their way to Earth after hearing about Optimus Prime's broadcast from another Autobot. It is not the smoothest landing, nor is their time on Earth a vacation either as they face Megatron and his 'cons, M.E.C.H., and more.
A rewrite of Transformers Prime from the Season 2 onwards.
