Summary
Robert has always known he was different - that there was something fundamentally wrong with him. He often felt like there was too much of him stuffed into the confines of his meat and bones - like some weird fleshy prison. He would stare at his hand sometimes and see T̶̟̅͑Ḫ̵͖̋̎Ì̸̼N̴̪̈́Ǧ̵͚̕S̶͎͐ moving underneath. He swore he could taste what people around him were feeling more than he could observe with his eyes.
Maybe that's why his father never loved him. Maybe that's why Uncle Elliot went mad. Maybe that's why he became addicted to the taste of a certain pyrokinetic villain. Maybe that's why, after the explosion, he stopped trying to pretend to be human - he's not.
He's Mecha Man Eldritch.

"I said… I said I want you to take me while I'm asleep," Robert finally choked out, setting his arms on the table and hiding his flushed face in them. After a moment, brown eyes peeked from beneath long lashes, and the smaller of the two glanced at the other. "Preferably several times. In several positions."
It was truly a good thing that Flambae's place had long ago disabled any fire alarms that were set up in their complex. The only thing that Chad could do in the face of that admission and those eyes was cough out a lick of flame that burst out of his mouth and twirled upwards in a vague shape of a heart.
"I uh… I can do that."

Summary
Ok. Ok. OK.
We often have the trope of Flambae pursuing Robert. He feeds him, warms him, gets him to therapy, etc etc.
But!
My mind has now gone to what if it's Robert aggressively pursuing Flambae instead?
Our man is not shy in his flirtations; we know this canonically. He looked at Blazer after she saved him and thought to himself, "I can hit this." You can see and hear it in him in their shared bar scene.
And now we can, and will, apply the same logic to Flambae and him. -

Robert is a "sweetheart" kind of guy.
Flambae discovers pretty quickly that when he gets Robert going. Like, really going? Blood pumping, pupils blown, hands gripping the sheets, going? The "sweethearts" come out.
Because Robert is from California, he's never been a "darling" or a "hun" proponent. "Babe" is entirely too casual
"Sweetheart," breathes Robert into Flambae's ear as his hands grip strong, muscular shoulders.
"Sweetheart" is purred into the darkness, and Robert kisses his way down the V of his suit.
" No, no, no, no! Stay with me sweetheart!" is screamed desperately into the night. -

He took his fingers. Took his time. Took his powers while he was locked up. took his blood that soaked into the blade and the suit. He hoped. Flambae is obsessed with Mecha Man after being busted. And the coincidence of Blonde Blazer meeting with the man, only to show up the next day with another of the same proportions can't be a coincidence.

Rozanov cocked his head. “You speak Russian? Or just the curse words?”
“Yes, I speak Russian,” he snapped, defensive and angry. He knew that it had been a mistake to even try to be friendly with Rozanov. “Why? Do I not look Russian to you?” He scoffed.
“No, not really,” Rozanov said. Some of his teammates laughed, although they mostly looked surprised that Shane was speaking to them at all. Rozanov didn’t laugh, though. “Are you Russian?”
“Go fuck yourself.”

Despite an inauspicious start, when Russia’s Ilya Rozanov learns that Canada’s Shane Hollander is fluent in Russian at their first World Junior Championships tournament, it changes everything and sets them on a different course. Instead of being branded as rivals from the very beginning, Ilya and Shane start off as friends.
And, after all, a little friendly rivalry never hurt anyone, did it?

Hunter laughs and moves it out of Ilya’s reach, knocking it back in a single go. Ilya stares at that perfect jawline as Hunter’s throat bobs in a swallow.
Not to be outdone, Ilya takes Hunter’s still-glistening fingertips and brings them up to his mouth.
Ilya’s tongue has just touched Hunter’s middle finger when Hunter rips his hand away. “Jesus Christ, Rozanov,” he snaps, looking around the bar like a ref is going to pop up with a whistle. But that was straight guys for you. Ilya just laughs.
Ilya and Scott both learn a few things about the other.
