Summary
You never bet on perfection, but you supposed it was the best you were going to get, and all things considered, it was more than literally anyone else. Of course, you also weren't ever going to allow yourself to believe that it'd last forever, but that didn't stop you from enjoying what had developed, fleeting as it may become.
