“Guys,” he began, voice wavering and dreadful. “Where’s Angel?”
Kobeni spoke up, looking like she’d been caught doing something she shouldn’t. Power beat her to it.
"We can explain—"
“—Angel’s missing!”
The gasps that flooded the lobby could rival a telenovela.
“Power,” Aki started, slow, stern, careful. “What do you mean he’s missing?”
Aki and Angel get married in Palawan, friends and family invited. (Almost) like the story of Cinderella, Angel gets cold feet and runs off. Aki and company are set on a wild goose chase to find the missing bride-to-be.

“Let me guess,” Angel said after he sipped some of his drink. “Can’t take care of the kids because they’re out of control and you’ve paid many people hush money under the table for what they did to them?”
Aki was speechless. He was one-hundred percent right.
Awkward dim-light meetings with him offering wads of yen because their hair got burnt off, skin mauled, money stolen, the list of crimes Denji and Power committed went on. Aki had been smacked with lawsuits before. Kishibe was helpful enough to make lawsuits magically disappear. When you were in a high position of power, scaring the shit out of people worked.
Aki responded with a facepalm, admitting his defeat. He noticed Angel’s lip lift in what seemed to be a smile.
“I’m glad my suffering is amusing to you.”’
“You don’t look like the dad type."
Aki, a yakuza and bodyguard, works a full-time job and decides to adopt two troublesome kids off the streets to keep them safe.
In order to keep his sanity intact, he tries to hire another babysitter hoping this time it would work. Surprisingly, it does. They end up falling for each other, and learns what it means to heal.

“You ready to go?” Jayce asked. Viktor nodded. They headed to Build-A-Bear. He let Viktor browse a little, hoping that he couldn’t decide which bear he wanted to get. Luck was on Jayce’s side today. He was like a deer in the headlights, probably a little overwhelmed by the options to select.
This was only his second time here, and he intended to go home with a bear. Jayce waved one of the employees over and explained their situation, asking about the timeless teddy bear, and she was more than grateful to direct him to what he was looking for.
He gave Viktor the bear, his cheeks bright pink.
“Oh,” Viktor let out this small gasp. “This is adorable.”
Jayce takes Viktor on that promised Build-A-Bear date.

Viktor hung up the phone.
“We have five hours,” he informed everyone. “Papa is going to call us every hour. If he catches a whiff of anything off we are fucked, do you all understand me?” They nodded obediently. “We need to come up with a thorough plan.”
“Listen, Viktor, hey by the way. I was hoping we didn’t have to meet again under circumstances like this,” Jayce began, to which Viktor responded “likewise,” “we really need your help, because you work here and I bet you know this place better than all of us combined.”
Jayce and Vi are tasked with babysitting Jinx and Ekko the summer they're on vacation and out of school. They wander off, and Viktor, who just wants to finish his night shift in peace, gets roped in a wild goose chase with his crush.

“I need,” he muttered under his breath, “a wedding date.”
Jayce, munching on his stupid donut in his stupid button-down, didn’t quite catch what he said. “Say what now?”
“I need a wedding date,” Viktor said, voice still too low for Jayce to hear. When he didn’t respond, Viktor wanted to tear his hair out. “Come with me to the fucking wedding or I will kill you Jayce Talis!” He demanded, with far more vehemence than he expected.
Jayce spit all of what he was chewing on the floor.
“I refuse to take no for an answer,” Viktor said, gesturing to the germicidal crime scene Jayce just made on the floor, looking him in the eye, feeling humiliated to even ask.
Viktor learns Jayce is back in town ten years after he broke his heart. Then, to make things worse, they both get wedding invitations; a vacation at the Kiramman's summerhouse the month of Caitlyn and Vi's wedding. Viktor decides to bite the bullet and ask Jayce to be his plus one, a once-and-for-all reconciliation that will make or break their relationship.

Summary
When an unkempt, handsome stranger stumbled into Viktor's office he knew he had to do one thing: Figure out what was going on. Failing that, he had to do another: Climb him like a tree.

"I ... I-I can't", he stuttered, breathy voice muffled by his own hands, "I can't, I ... can't do this ... not to..."
"What...", Viktor began, unsure what to make of this. Then he saw broad shoulders twitch upwards, heaving rhythmically as the stranger's body was wracked with deep, desperate sobs.
"Ehh..." He was frozen, watching the man cry on his office floor. Large hands rubbed at misty eyes, pressed against grimy skin, dragged through tangled hair as fat tears rolled down his face and a blotchy flush spread across his cheeks. It was a heart-achingly pathetic sight that went on and on and Viktor, despite his confusion, could not help but be moved by it. -
