Summary
A reworking of The Long Game. This tells various stories that occur during that 1st, 2nd, & 3rd year when Shane is still a Voyager and Ilya a Centaur, finally when Shane becomes a Centaur himself.
Timeline is roughly:
Ilya's First Centaur Season:
Rip off the band-aid - Summer- immediately after Heated Rivalry, still at the first cottage getaway.
I Only threw this party for you - Fall - That very halloween, roughly 4 months from the cottage.
I got to hear it from your lips - Late Fall/Winter - where Ilya is jealous of Shane getting attention by other gay men now that he's out. (Flashforward scene in the end)
Ilya's 2nd Centaur Season:
Can I get Shane's Number? - Fall- Troy joins the team mid-season. Nov - January
Let's all meet Harris - Winter - Harris joins the staff in Feb.
Ilya's 3rd Season:
Two Drunken Nights Two Months Apart - 1 October night, 1 Jan. night. 1 press conference.
Make no Apologies - Winter - January/Feb
Rock Bottom to Rock Solid - Spring Playoffs to Summer

Both Montreal's and Boston's team captains' face a head on collision on the ice, knocking them both out cold.
Cue worried teammates, incredibly strong pain meds, a shared hospital room, very confused Hollander parents and loose-tongued confessions.
OR
Shane and Ilya end up doped up on pain meds in the same hospital room...

Summary
Luca, his face the color of a ripe tomato, leaned in with agonizing slowness. Troy held up his phone, showing Shane sandwiched between them before leaning in and planting a loud, dramatic smack on Shane’s right cheek. At the same time Luca placed a soft, fleeting kiss on Shane’s left cheek.
Shane burst out laughing just as the camera clicked their picture, the last of the tension dissolving.
“Perfect!” Troy looked at his phone with a wide, and in Luca’s opinion, a very evil smile, and sent the picture to the team group chat.
Ilya: BARRETT WTF WHY ARE YOUR LIPS ON MY BOYFRIEND
Harris: WHY DID YOU GET TO KISS HIM BEFORE ME?! I HAVE SENIORITY!

Harris stopped talking because Shane had frozen. Completely frozen. His glass halted halfway to his lips. His eyes went wide and fixed on a point on the far wall. The blush that had been a soft pink bloomed into a scarlet tide that crept from his neckline to the roots of his hair.
Ilya, watching him, threw his head back and burst out laughing.
