“Have the parents been briefed?” JJ asks, glancing up from her file.
Hotch’s face is as impassive as ever, save for the slight tightening of his mouth, and there’s a short second of hesitation before he answers. “Parent.”
Morgan frowns. “What d’you mean?”
“Parent, singular,” Hotch clarifies. “There’s only one parent.” He sighs, closing his eyes for a brief second as the team watches on in confusion. When he opens them again, he glances down at the remote in his hand, clicking the button as another image shows up on the screen. “The victim is Spencer David Rossi.”

Summary
Spencer Reid had a notebook, he took it with him everywhere and he never let anyone read it. His teammates had tried to get him to tell them its contents to no avail. In this notebook he wrote down every time someone tells him to shut up. The team was working a particularly bad case in Vegas, a case that unbenounced to the team was hitting a bit close to home for Reid, also unbeknownst to them where the consequences this case would have.
