Ice clenches his jaw like he’s so frustrated having to spell it out. “Mitchell. Stop it. I know. And it’s fine. It’s not the first workplace crush I’ve dealt with. But we both know this,” Ice gestures between them with a doubtful grimace. “It’s not healthy.”
Wait. What?
“Workplace…crush,” Maverick repeats, stuck on the words, mental gears turning in slow, rusty clicks as he plays back the conversation. Ice accused Maverick of being more interested in him than Amy. Maverick thought he meant as a rival, a sparring partner. But he meant romantically? That can’t be right.
“Stop it,” Ice says with a roll of his eyes like he thinks Maverick is messing with him. “There’s no point denying it. You like me.”
Maverick stares at him with his mouth agape, unable to formulate words. The struggling gears in his mind have ground to a halt.
“It’s really obvious, man,” Ice continues, tone softening. “You’re like a kid with puppy love. You’re always trying to get under my skin, get my attention. It’s flattering, in a way. But I’ll pass."
“You think I like you?”

Bradley's eyes widened as he felt an indescribable presence lingering just above and to his left. His breath hitched, and his vision blurred ever so slightly with brewing and unshed tears; he could feel it, the chill of fingers that weren’t actually there.
Fingers that grazed along his scalp and ran back along his head until they stopped at the crown of his head.
There. That very aching second was the moment those biting fingers wrapped into a white knuckled grip around his hair.Bradley hissed through his teeth as this white knuckled grip pulled with all its might, jerking his chin up and his attention to the catwalk.
Through the glassy haze, Bradley wasn’t sure if he was seeing things correctly. The lighting and his tears made him question reality to a full extent.
His breath hitched, and he blinked a tear down his cheek. His heart that’d already been racing only seemed to increase in speed.__

Because how was he meant to explain how he got in this situation?
Like, he wasn't the loudest of people, and he normally only spoke when spoken to, but they'd been playing truth or dare because Hangman was a child trapped in a man's body sometimes, and he loved the chance to rile people up, and Bob had thought truth would be easier to handle than dare. At least he wouldn't have to get up—he'd been comfy sat on the beanbag Mav and Ice had in their living room, okay?
But then Hangman had looked at him with that damned smirk on his face when he'd quietly uttered "truth", and next thing he knew, he was having to answer if he'd ever take two guys at once. And not in a fight.
