The familiar aura of Frost’s magic swirled around him, and his yellow eyes and solemn face were stony with concentration. Suddenly, though, the spell broke, and his expression dropped into something filled with fear.
“That’s not Gideon,” he called to Kremy, whose heart fell into his shoes. “There’s some sort of outside influence causing him to do this. It seems he believes the three of us are his enemies.”
On the one hand, Kremy was relieved. If Gideon wasn’t in the pilot’s seat at the moment, it meant he was still in there somewhere, and he didn’t really want to kill them all. Gods, there’s blood there too. “What sort of bodyguard are you meant to be if you get killed for chasing some tail?” Gideon chortles, sighing softly and groaning with the jolting movement of his wounds.
“Guess I’d be a pretty shit one.” Gideon replies and his eyes flutter in pain; he exhales shakily and glances at him, looking at him with something resembling scrutiny. “Guess that makes me a pretty shit husband too.”

Summary
The camp is strangely quiet, it shouldn’t be a surprise but it’s still unnerving. The second they stepped off the bridge it was like waking from a dream as the chaotic fey magic released its grip. They’d been through this enough to know that none of them were in their right minds but still… an undercurrent of tension has remained that has them all walking on eggshells. Most of Kremy’s crew sit around the fire, enjoying their steaming bowls of gumbo with sincere (if quiet) praise and soft conversation. Most of them, with one notable exception who is missing… again.
