Summary
What is darkness if not the inherent absence of light?
Life beheld nothing precious for Michael Wheeler. Blinders shielded innocent eyes from the sun, shrouding him in a world of emptiness where he was destined to live alone. There was no light in the city of Hawkins; especially not for Mike.
But when a handsome stranger shows up at the doorstep of Hawkins PD asking Mike to revisit a cold case from the fall of 1950, the sunrise makes its triumphant return. As the two unlikely partners dive head-first into a world of murder and poker, they learn to enjoy the simple pleasures and forbidden fruits life has to offer.

Summary
The first time Will felt that something was seriously wrong with him, he did what he thought was best, which is absolutely nothing. It was hands-down the worst decision he’d ever made, and considering how his life turned out, that was saying something.
If he’d just opened his mouth, said something—anything—it might’ve saved him from being possessed for the next year and a half.
Or
November 6, 1987. Will Byers disappears for seven days, then comes back alive but possessed. Mike takes his sweet time connecting the dots, but once he does, he’s definitely not okay with this information.

Summary
"Time cast a spell on you, but you won't forget me."
When Will Byers comes out in the middle of the apocalypse, Mike Wheeler is forced to come face-to-face with his own identity.
In the following years, Mike isolates himself from The Party and becomes wrapped up in a cycle of grief and shame. When he finally returns to Hawkins, he is forced to face the consequences of his self-isolation.
Set over a decade of missed opportunities (read: angst) and snapshots in time, Mike has to learn to forgive himself and find his way back home.
(I suck at summaries, I promise the fic is better)
(Also, warning for period typical homophobia and angst. It will get better in the end, I promise.)
or
When Will Byers comes out to the group, it sends Mike Wheeler into a decade-long spiral.

Summary
Max's eyes dart between Will and Mike, studying them with thinly veiled amusement. She turns to Lucas and nudges him with an elbow. "Was it really this obvious?"
"Yep," Lucas sighs. "The whole time."
Max snorts. "Oh my god. When I get back, nobody is living this down."
Or: Will has seen a lot of things in the past few years, but the arrival of a friend from ten years in the future is… unexpected, to say the least. The ceiling opens up and spits out a twenty-six-year-old Max Mayfield, and the definition of possible expands again.

Summary
Mike and Will wake up married in Vegas. Will is very eager to put it behind them, by any means necessary. Mike is decidedly not letting this opportunity pass him by.
