Summary
Scott texts Kip that he’s bringing Shane back to the apartment. “Hey, I kind of have a big favor to ask you and I need you to be supportive about it.”
Kip replies almost immediately, “That sounds ominous, is everything okay?”
“I don’t know,” Scott decides to be honest, “You know how I’m shooting that commercial with Shane Hollander today?”
“Yes…” He can practically feel Kip’s anxiety leaking into that one text.
“Well, I think something happened to him. Something bad. I’m bringing him back to the apartment.”-
Shane and Scott are supposed to be doing a commercial together but Scott notices that Shane’s acting… off. He finds out what happened in Vegas and forces Ilya to fix it.

Hayden wanted to apologize but wasn’t even sure what to apologize for. “If you’re so embarrassed about your choice of boyfriend, maybe get a better one?”
It wasn’t any worse than anything Hayden had said before. In fact, it was probably fairly tame as far as insults went, but it didn’t matter. Hayden could see the moment something inside of Shane detonated. One minute Shane was standing only a handful of feet away, his suit jacket clutched in his hands, and the next the jacket was dropped to the floor in a heap, and Shane’s hands were fisted in Hayden’s shirt, his back slamming against the wall.
Holy fuck, he thought. Shane is going to fucking hit me.

or, Hayden makes one too many shitty comments about Rozanov and Shane finally snaps. And while he never actually lands a blow on his best friend, the defeated way he talks about ending their friendship has Hayden rattled. After the Centaurs plane makes an emergency landing, Hayden knows he needs to do everything in his power to make it up to his best friend, with Jackie's help of course.

“What happened, baby? Let me see.” Shane sat up on his knees, barely holding onto the ground with his left hand, to stop himself from falling. His right hand was up over his entire face, and red liquid had made itself visible all the way down to his chin.
“Fuck, Ilya, it hurts.” His eyes were still closed.
“I know, let me see it.” Ilya reached up towards Shane’s hand and gently pulled it away from his face. “Is okay, we fix.” He wasn’t being one hundred percent truthful; there was a lot of blood, and Ilya couldn’t really tell where it was coming from. The entire right side of his face was coated in his own red handprint.

Hayden had known Shane was gay for a while now.
He didn’t want his best friend to live in a world where it felt dangerous to be his true self. He didn’t want anyone to have to live that way. So lately he had been extra sensitive to the homophobia that was rampant in the NHL. He started calling out his teammates who made homophobic comments. He had already gotten in several fights on the ice over the issue. After being so passive on the issue for so long, he wasn’t holding back any longer.
So he certainly didn’t hold back when he heard Shane’s rival, Ilya fucking Rozanov, being homophobic toward Shane.
OR: Hayden is just trying to be a good ally. He accidentally commits a hate crime instead. Oops.

Aaron breathed and felt the tearing pain in his abdomen. He breathed again and felt it spread up his back. The current of helplessness, uncertainty, and painpainpain washed over him for the nth time since leaving the dorms. It just kept getting worse.The second chapter is possibly the softest thing I have ever written, and I myself am melting. Enjoy! (Sorry bout the rapid fire hurt in the first chapter lol)
Someone, (and by someone I mean me) is getting carried away. So much for a oneshot. But there's not plot really, so this is just a series of oneshots. Written mostly for me, but a lot of you like the same Aaron whump, family fluff I do, so sharing is caring.
