Summary
Lantern-light glinted off of a set of brown-gold eyes, hidden in the darkness of the hole.
There was a moment when Legend expected to see some sort of animal emerge, but as Four swung the lantern closer, what the light revealed was nothing Legend could have ever guessed.
There was a child kneeling in the cramped, dusty space- splattered in mud, dust settled in their tangled hair and eyelashes as they closed their eyes, flinching back against the comparatively bright light of the lantern and raising their hands to cover their grimy face.
Legend knelt by the entrance to the- the fucking hole the monsters had been keeping this kid in, goddesses- and lifted a hand towards them. “Hey, kid? We’re not gonna hurt you, do you want to come out of there?”
OR
Kid!Hyrule has been being used for healing by a band of monsters for years. Then, the Chain shows up, killing the creatures that had been keeping him captive and offering him a hand out of the darkness.
This is the story of how a kid who only remembers being used as a healing item starts to learn how to be a little brother instead.

Summary
Once, Hyrule was the only person he knew named Link. He was the only person who had held the triforce, the only person who had to run from the forces of evil, to defeat an enemy too great when he was too young, too small, too alone. Once, he cast a desperate bit of arcane magic and thrust himself and eight strangers on a quest.
Now, Legend smiles more, and Twilight's shadows are a little lighter. Now Wind laughs as loud as a storm with Sky's smile as soft as the following calm.
Someday soon, Wild will stand in a land of darkness, fighting an enemy all too easy to laugh off, though the darkness doesn't laugh. The shadows themselves will plot and scheme. Soon Wars' own darkness with reach out for him. It isn't long until Four is haunted by his own shadow. Maybe, if they had enough warning there would be something that could be done.
The problem with Time is that he knows the cost of meddling. Then, now, and then again, he was, is, and will be unable to warn them all properly. That's the issue with time travel. For those outside of the stream, the course of it can't be seen, can't be planned for. By the time you realize it's happened, it's already too late.

“Well,” the boy said to it as the sun dipped closer to the trees, “your hero didn't show up yet, but I bet they're coming! I bet they're real nice, too. You’re probably going to save the world together.”
He was borrowing it. He was borrowing the Sword of Legend, and… what, checking in to see if it was needed? Waiting for a hero to come for it?
It wasn’t sure what to think. It wasn’t supposed to think about its wielders. But it found itself looking forward to the stories, keeping an eye out while the boy slept, memorizing as much of the information he gave it as it could.
Its job was to protect the innocent, after all.
Or: Hyrule finds a sword. The sword has opinions about this.

Red Hood finds a brutally injured Danny Fenton in a back alley during patrol just after the halfa has escaped the GiW. He can’t talk, and he is scared of any human around him. But Jason isn’t just any human, he saved him. An aura of death has always surrounded him. He felt safe. Maybe he can trust a human again after all.
Jason has no idea how to take care of this terrified and traumatized kid but he is certainly going to try. Whoever did something like this to a child is going to feel the wrath of Red Hood, riiiiight after he takes care of this kid first. Wild has been keeping most of his journey a secret--the Chain only knows that the Calamity destroyed Hyrule and that he can come back to life with Mipha's Grace. They don't know about the other dead Champions, that he slept for a hundred years and lost his memories, that he failed. And frankly, he's not sure if he wants to tell them. The other Heroes of Courage would be ashamed he shared the Hero's Spirit with them, they would hate him for how he let down his kingdom and friends.
Of course, Wild might not get a chance to hide his secrets as the Chain travels through his Hyrule.
