HI! As of 6/02/25 I will no longer be continuing /this/ fic. Rereading it makes me wanna die, and at the time I didn't really have *my* lore down and such. HOWEVER I will be reworking this fic! as I would love to redo this, and make it my own. Because when I first began this I was high off of 'one upon an eclipse'. And needed more child Kae with adult diluc.
Oh and the fact that the way I wrote this shit is causing me physical pain because I can do waves better.BUT DO CHECK OUT ONCE UPON AN ECLIPSE! LeeRyder is fucking amazing and is the reason I decided to start writing fanfics! So go give them love or I swear by the nine I will steal you soul, use it on a pair of shoes to give me more stamina while I'm banging your wife. Wait that's for Nazeem. Eh it should still work do it or become Nazeem. (If you know you knwl )

Summary
A long time ago, it was decided that Kaeya's life does not belong to him but to Fate; there is nothing he can do to change its course. Which is the truth. However, even if he cannot change his own destiny and turn his curse into a blessing, there is nothing stopping him from weaving the fate in favor of the others.
However, he has made a grave mistake.
People's hearts are not cards, and they cannot be played forever — and just because Kaeya thought people are better off without him, doesn't mean that everyone involved agrees.

Crepus didn’t know how long he had been there, floating aimlessly in the inky black abyss. The only thing he could see was his own limbs. He didn’t need to breathe here, didn’t need to hear, didn’t need to smell. All he had known for so long was this strange place that seemed to defy all laws that Teyvat had.
The last thing he remembered was using his Delusion against Ursa to protect his son. He felt the Delusion’s power course through his body, driving Ursa away. Then…. Nothing, like he had passed out or worse from using it.

But, maybe Kaeya should've looked up Fontaine laws on weapons and gliders before he left, in hindsight. Because if he had, he wouldn't have learned the hard way that unsheathing his sword while gliding was a criminal offense.

Wriothesley hadn't had a prisoner that made him this curious in quite a while. Plus, meeting a knight in person would be nice, after reading Owl's complaints on them.

Aka: Kaeya gets sent to the Fortress of Meropide. Wriothesley is confused as to why his fellow informant in the Northern Intelligence Network is so worried about the Calvary Captain. Diluc is not coping well with the fact that Kaeya is in the Fortress, even though he doesn't care about him at all. (He does.)Oh, and Kaeya gets to solve a murder.
