Summary
Will stared at the bowl of energon sitting in his private office. The liquid pulsed light at a regular interval of every two seconds and its radiation readings were off the charts. And yet, somehow, it wasn’t truly harmful for humans. Externally, anyway. He dipped a finger in. His skin tingled in a prickly sort of way, but when he withdrew it was perfectly whole and hale.

Summary
William Lennox was tired. It was a bone-deep weariness that settled into his soul, fatigue brought on by rapidly fading adrenaline multiplied several times over with the world-shaking revelations of the past forty-eight hours. Blue and purple bruises littered his torso, every little movement jostling cracked ribs and sending stabs of pain through him, and yet he still forced himself to keep going. The world waited for no one, and if anyone truly deserved rest right now it was Optimus, not him.

Summary
William Lennox is a child, and he knows guns better than he knows people.
His great-great-great-grandfather fought in the American Civil War, his great-great-grandfather in World War One. His great-grandfather, in both. His grandfather, grievously wounded and paralysis taking his left leg in France before his son was even conceived, and still as sharp and alert as he had been on the beaches of Normandy. His ancestors have fought in Vietnam, the Philippines, Japan, Germany, Russia, France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, China, Korea, England, America; all have tales of some of the bloodiest times in history. War runs through his veins, heart drums in tandem with the spray of gunfire. Instead of fairy tales, of knights and dragons and princesses, he sits by his grandfather’s bedside every night, enthralled by the grizzled veteran’s brushes with death, vivid imagery lending to the ever-growing conviction in his heart.

The Symbol of Hope looked out at the ring of determined faces. The banging was getting louder and louder, threatening to break through the thick metal walls. Duality turned away to stare, face pale, where the walls were starting to dent. "Shit, we're out of time."
"Get this right, Deku."
"GET GOING ALREADY, DAMN NERD!"
"Go, Deku. Save us."
The green-haired man nodded, turned to Ground Zero, and reached out to clasp forearms with his brother, his rival, his friend. "See you on the other side, brother."
"You bet." The hero grinned slightly and shoved him to the portal. "Now go!"
The last thing he heard before the swirling light overtook him was an earthshaking roar.
